completely agree. i liked the theme and cohesiveness of each short but overall, it fell short for me. it could have been great though. the accident was brutal though.

  2. Honestly, I thought the last two bits were okay (particularly "Jailbreak") but the first two really, really fell short for me and kind of tainted the pacing and tone of the film right from the start. They were both really unfocused to the point that they were incoherent at times, and not in a fun, "keeping things vague" kind of way.

I remember seeing Event Horizon in theaters and those scenes of hell were some of the most fucked up scenes I've ever seen at 13 years old.

It's my favorite sci-fi/horror movie because it's one of the few that is straight up either or. Alien is great, don't get me wrong, but different type of horror.

Even what was shown on the screen was pretty bad, but these are just like wtf haha.

  14. I watched it with my roommate last semester on a rainy day (he'd never seen it) and it definitely holds up imo.

Yea, a lot of those are quick flashes of what's in the movie. I remember I would pause it on my dvd player just to see parts of the blood orgy. I thought it was going to be actual scenes.

Fishborn or however you spell it gets on my nerves; he's an overactor big time.

I watched Event Horizon not long after Alien and thought it was very similar on first watch

Europa Report was a good sci-fi horror too

Yup same here. I saw it when I was 11 or 12 with my brother on HBO...the clips of "hell" were nailed into my brain.

Alien is very much a thriller, fear of the unknown sci-fi horror while Event Horizon felt like Hellraiser in space. Each were amazing for their own respective reasons.

Sunshine was one that, after a single viewing, I could not understand all the hype. I need to re-watch.

The sci-fi aspect of Sunshine is what pulled me in, and I like the idea of the plot.
