My friends dad had a really expensive whiskey that he saved for my friends wedding. We were staying at their lake house afterwards and he made us all stand in a circle and take shots while we told memories of our friendships. It was really cool.

 

I can't do gold tequila but I can drink everything else.

 

That's similar to the last time I was in a wedding. We all did shots of a $200 bottle of whiskey while toasting the groom before the wedding. So all the groomsmen smelled like whiskey through the whole wedding.

 

The newlyweds hung out at the lake house before they caught their flight to their honeymoon. She was pregnant so she couldn't even drink any of it! Haha

 

Oh that's sad! But it really is such a great bonding moment, too. I'd imagine there's very few people you want to be around on your wedding day/before your honeymoon.

 

My town is known for whiskey idk how widely known but it's a thing here lol so for my sister's wedding they wanted all the party to take a shot and I was the one buzz kill that didn't cause I don't drink. In retrospect that was also the day my brother in law started showing cancer symptoms but we all just thought he was in pain from dancing/being drunk

You shouldn't feel like a buzzkill or a downer just for not drinking or mentioning your family. In fact anyone who makes you feel bad is the real downer. You don't need to drink to have fun. And I'm sorry about your brother in law.

 

Yeah those were fucking awesome. It's been days and I'm still thinking about that show constantly.

 

They announced a show in Nashville today, and I'm probably going to spend money I don't have to buy tickets shortly.

 

Do it! I have some friends who are going in NJ this weekend and they're so excited.

I always feel like a downer for not drinking. Idk why it bothers people so much but they always make it a thing!

And thanks! It was kinda awkward over share to bring it up haha but its made me look at their wedding night all negatively now. We all laughed at him cause we thought it was cause he was drunk womp womp. PSA tho if anyone is having random ankle pain that won't go away and don't know why get it checked out!

 

@Henry is going to that show, too. It'd be my tenth time seeing them, and I wouldn't regret it. Money is just very, very tight.

 

Yeah, I don't blame you. I've only seen them that one time and if I could pull it off, I'd have tried to make it to another date.

 

I always just tried to pretend the fact that I don't drink or party didn't exist and passively aggressively ignore people, that didn't work

 

This will probably be around my 15th or 20th time seeing Thrice. Too many times.

 

Motion City's farewell show was my 151st concert. I'm sure some people here dwarf that, but I'm pretty proud of that resume.

 

i dont drink much but pretty soon i cant drink at all cuz im getting a monthly shot that blocks opiates and alcohol. suxxxxxxxx

 

I should try and count all of the shows I remember. It'd probably be around 300-400

 

I lost count of how many shows I've seen years ago, often forget if I've seen someone, or like with Haim I think I have because that would be on brand but nope not yet

 

I don't mind people who don't drink as long as they're my DDs.

 

Haim was not as good as I hoped they'd be. I don't know if it was the environment or what. Just didn't sound great.

 

all the live videos ive seen of them have been rough, guess theyre kind of a studio band

 

Vocals or just attitude/stage presence? I was bummed that I didn't get to see them a week or so ago.

 

I've probably been to the least amount of shows than anyone on here by a lot.

 

yeah i wanted to see them recently but i couldnt, ive had to miss a ton of shows i wanted to go to this year, fuck dope dont ever do it
