I fucking love Back To The Future and I fucking love blink-182.

They should write a song about BTTF.

  10. I think I mentioned it in here but the warehouse where they shot the WYHSB video had an old BTTF billboard and mark was SO STOKED about it and I knew he was the greatest human.

I believe he said he wrote it in like 5 minutes too. Yet there was no outcry about it then.

My personal metric for what makes a song good is not by how popular it is. I think there is an important difference between good songs and successful songs.

Deciding what is good is subjective, and is a pesonal opinion from person to person. Deciding if an album WAS popular/successful is objective. Success/popularity has always been blink’s intention. When you listen back only really one album still could hold up today.

We know what they are. We ate up their music when we were younger because we were young and for most of us it introduced us into a genre and “feeling” which was new to us. Today, we see that music still can have success and they’re doing it right.

It’s just, for some we won’t be able to reciprocate that “blink magic” we once had because we’ve grown up and don’t rely on “blink-182” music to define us. For most we can sit back, play new blink, don’t put ungodly expectations that Untitled 2 is about to play, and reminisce on what blink meant to us once.

I’ll always appreciate them still going and I enjoyed California. It has flaws I like to discuss, but I am happy it’s here.

Sincerely a rambling person with no real intention but it’s 7 am and I don’t want to go to work.

I'm obviously going to give it a chance but working with a band like the Chainsmokers is a huge turn off for me.

Like I am willing to bet if they hadn’t said anything on social media no one would have been the wiser that chainsmokers were helping on a song when the album drops

I'd like to hear it without knowledge of which song it is but I'm sure I won't be able to avoid that info haha

If it wasn't said that Sober was the song Pat Stump had input on I think it would have been easy to figure based on how the song sounded.

If you had no knowledge that stump worked on a song with them you’d never had went “oh Patrick must have worked with them on this song this just sounds like him”

The only thing we know that Patrick Stump contributed to that song was the Dandelion/Four Leaf Clover line, as Mark said in interviews Stump said that line and Mark liked it and wanted to use it. I don't hear FOB at all in that song or San Diego but to each his own.

    i like food

Patrick Stump co-wrote "Sober" and it sounds like any other song on California and not like a poppy Fall Out Boy song. People have to understand that just because the Chainsmokers helped blink write a bit, it doesn't mean it's going to sound like a Chainsmokers song with Mark/Matt singing it haha relax it's gonna be great.

Edit: Looks like someone beat me to this take haha

Not really, but I can clearly hear his influence on the song. Not that I'm complaining, I like the song and I like some FOB.
