What does everyone think of the new Soilwork? I like it but I’m not in love with it.

 

I honestly don't think i've ever really checked out Soilwork, despite having heard their name and seen it a million times over the course of the last decade and a half.

 

I can describe them as mix of Swedish Death Metal and maybe a band like Iron Maiden. Bjorn has a ridiculous vocal range.

 

Also, I'm just now listening to the new Terrorizer, but it's pretty sick.

 

Any of the two iterations of Terrorizer will probably never top World Downfall sadly. :/ The new one was still pretty good tho.

Whenever I see a Spite tour I keep hoping its the kickass riff frenzied black metal Spite and not this meh beatdown Spite.

 

Sorry for triple post but while I missed the presale tickets last week I still plan on going to this amazing festival that I went to last year. FIRE IN THE MOUNTAINS. The lineup is so good this year and plan to have as much fun if not more than I did last year. All the metal, neofolk, and gothic country goodness.

TROB is worth the price of admission alone. They were probably the best live set of the weekend last year at Maryland Deathfest. I'm jealous...and secretly hoping they're doing some other US dates around that, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was just a one off.

 

Yeah I saw TROB at california deathfest and they were top notch without a doubt, plus I think seeing them in the mountains would be a very spiritual experience. I think unfortunately I heard that TROB is FITM exclusive for NA. But I think Saor should be doing a couple dates outside the fest if you're into them.

Just some new stuff I'm digging...

 

This Creeping Death album from last year rocks.

 

I saw them at a salsa dance club matinee show with Dropdead and Full of Hell years ago. Good times.

 

IIRC, the first time I saw them was opening the outdoor stage in a tent at Maryland Deathfest 2013. They opened the day and Deiphago, Evoken, Pallbearer, Abigail, Cobalt, and Bolt Thrower played after them...that was a fun day.

 

That lineup is stacked holy shit. Lucky. I like all of those bands.

 

They're from about an hour north of Dallas, so they play here a lot. They're sick. Gonna see them in a few weeks with Judiciary.

 

I follow 20 Buck Spin on Instagram and on their story they posted that they received an Obsequiae demo. I am become hype.

 

I have really grown to like that label a lot and this makes it even better:

 

From what I can tell, they already have a pretty damn good 2019 release schedule laid out:

Gonna be a legit year for them!

 

Been on a pretty big Dismember kick the last few days since they announced their reunion. This track is a favorite of mine from them...still rooted in their HM-2 laden early days but they inject a nice bit of melody in there to really get things going.
