Tickets are $85 (not including tax). First NYC show in over 20 years.

The Amity Affliction is another metalcore band that took forever to start blowing up

I feel like they've been on the decline. I mean co-headlining with Senses Fail is a great accomplishment but nothing came close to the popularity of Let the Ocean Take Me. And from what I can tell people are pretty split on Misery.

All their songs literally sound the exact same

Mpls & Millwaukee are definitely not A markets

It'd be cool to see any screamo band as they all skip my town but the whole Jerome's Dream reunion is lame as fuck imo. Maybe'll they be cool live but it just seems like something that's forced

You guys have me listening to the Word Alive for the first time in years. Going through Deceiver now, but I might check out their new album after that. Hounds of Anubis still bangs.

I finally checked out Dark Matter and it's legitimately good. Might be better than Deceiver

Still think the self titled EP & Empire are their best work though

I'm not huge into Amity but this is a hard disagree. There's no way you can tell me Pittsburgh and Feels Like I'm Dying sound the exact same. I'd agree with you if you said 95% of their material pre-Misery followed the same song structure of screamed verses/clean choruses.

when you listen to their new album, go in with a clear mind. like don’t skip tracks, just listen to it. it’s solid front to back even though, it sounds nothing like deceiver, it doesn’t sound like any other band.

deceiver is my favorite album by them. it bangs so fucking hard. glad you like dark matter, check out violent noise if you get the chance. :)

Don't worry once I decide to listen to an album I fully commit (unless I like really really hate it). I'm not expecting it to sound like Deceiver, so I am excited to hear how they changed.

there are definitely softer elements, which they’ve always incorporated on each album, still don’t get where people say that they started writing super soft shit (you’re all i see, astral plane, collapsing.. etc.) are examples. i still think anyone would like it. it’s diverse as hell. let me know what you think.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Lots of people going to that tour are leaving after Senses Fail too

Minneapolis is defnitely an A-market, even if not for for this music style.

Like it teeters the line, but ends up on the same tours as Chicago, LA, NYC & Philadelphia way more than actual B-markets like Spokane, Grand Rapids, Reno & Oklahoma City.

(Just did a google search, and the Twin Cities Metro is the 3rd biggest in the Midwest, after Chicago & Detroit, and 16th largest overall. Bigger than San Diego, Denver, Portland, Pittsburgh & St. Louis)

It was very solid. It was a little different but it still sounded like them. I kind of liked that they went "softer" on a few songs, particularly Run Away. I'm definitely going to want to listen to it some more, so that's good.

I never could get into TAA, but a few of my close friends love them so I can't hate on them. Just not something for me. I've tried.
