ha i know what you mean, i'm just saying i'm too much of a scaredy cat to play any scary games. i love the lore in SH and RE, will definitely watch people play it but every time i think i have enough courage to tackle a survival horror, i back out immediately after the first scare.

maybe someday i'll have the courage to play the SH, RE series, Condemned and Welcome to The Game lol

oh i completely get that haha. i had a very similar experience to your friend when playing the original re2 at a friend's house. not to mention it literally burned itself into my collective gaming experience memory because it scared us so much. also, holy shit i forgot about the condemned games.

the bear chasing scene in condemned is iconic tbh lol. and the licker in RE2 scarred us for life. i dont think i can think of any other terrifying monster that ruined us.. pyramid head in SH comes close.. wow, nostalgia. we had to escort each other to the bathroom because we were so terrified

I'd agree. After playing that game for 30 minutes I can't understand why anyone would keep playing. That's just me though.

I wasn't bad at the game. It just had no appeal to me. I'd just rather play something else like Enter The Gungeon or something.

There's no way you were good if you only played for 30 mins bruh. I have EtG too. Issac has so much more depth and variety to it.

I'll say it took about 10 hours before Issac hooked me. Maybe more. I was very lukewarm on it for a while.

Why would you play a game for 10 hours if you were lukewarm on it? I mean, it's good that you love it now, but 10 hours seems like a long time.

I think Condemned is the most a game has every truly scared me. I remember in the original there was one part where you're like following a blood trail or something that goes over a balcony and someone jumps up at you from the balcony and it horrified me.

I might need to replay those games. It's a shame they never made any more.

I had two good friends who absolutely raved about it. And had played it more than any other game they had ever played.

Definitely a good question though, i played it here and there for a few weeks, then I got a good run going with some great items and it was as fun as I've ever had in a game for the most part. Issac drops you better items the more you play, at least that's what it feels like. So the deeper I get the more insane and completely different my runs get. There is also so much to unlock. I also am new to the roguelike genre. EtG was my first one and that took me a while to understand the hook of it as well.

Condemned fucking ruled so much. Loved both of those games.

I can't understand liking Gungeon and not Isaac, but its cool.

Condemned: Criminal Origins was great. Condemned 2: Bloodshot was...weird. Especially the ending where you started screaming at everything and like had superpowers or whatever.
I remember they wanted to make a third entry, but I don't know why it never happened. Probably from lack of sales or something.

To be fair, EtG and BoI aren't my cup of tea. I generally don't enjoy that kind of gameplay loop.

Issac seems cool but the setting is too dark for me. If that would be a Kirby spin-off I’d play the shit out of it.

You wake up in a prison and a gate to hell opens up. Demons start possessing all of the inmates, who take on the form of what they are in prison for.

I think my favorite condemned memory is early on when I was searching an apartment or hospital or something, and I went into a bathroom with a mirror. When I went in nothing was behind me, I opened the mirror to check for supplies, and when I closed it, a monster was right behind me. Only time I’ve ever actually yelled while playing a game

Lol yea it got really weird at the end, but it also made me think there would be a 3rd and then it never happened, and I don't really see it happening at this point. Who knows though. But aside from the end, the rest of 2 was really solid. It was the one with the bear chase after all.

Amnesia was the last game to get me to jump. I had downloaded the set when it was free on PS+ and had multiple jump moments. Had to actually take a moment and tell myself to relax. Don’t even know really what the story was, but it was creepy as any.
