Hold Up A Light is a fun song and it’s not any more radio rockish than Image Of The Invisible

 

I’ll say this, I’ve grown to appreciate the unique mix of the album. That dry production is interesting, not something you hear often.

 

I just imagined lil Wayne with thrice at the halftime show.
Now that would be amazing.

All I’m gonna say is I was harsh on Mike at first. His opinions are ridiculous to me , BUT they’re just that. His opinions. A lot of people would always say “Mike don’t leave we love you etc.”.


Where are his allies now when he probably needs them most?

Anyways I don’t think it’s cool piling on him anymore. His heart is in the right place.

People can skip songs. Hold Up A Light still follows Dustin’s darkness/light themes he’s been using for years. It could go after his solo song “There’s Something Dark Inside Or Me” and work really well.

 

Take away the crunch move the key down a 4th and you are on to something... lol

Carry the fire is probably better than the last two thrice albums... is that a hot take?

Palmquist should have been brought back. TBEITBN sounds amazing.

 

He was there for just vocals I think. Should have done the whole thing, hoping Teppei isn’t involved in this aspect at all next album.

 

I don't know much about production but whatever they did with Ed's bass sound this album needs to continue forever.

 

Teppei did great work on Alchemy Index. I don’t mind the sound of Palms, although TBEITBN does sound super

 

I’d say I would disagree, but there are some many great songs between those three albums.

 

Nah i agree with that. I LOVE Carry the fire but also dig the last two Thrice records.

I remember the interview when dustin said he was really surprised when he got the first mixes back on how dry everything was. it's a different style, its definitely not going to be for everyone, but I enjoy the contrast.
