I’ve tried playing Mass Effect a few times and it just hasn’t clicked with me. I probably need to go ahead and skip 1 so I can get to 2.

 

Does anyone here have experience with the God Eater franchise? I was looking at a list of upcoming games this year, and my precursory research into God Eater 3 has me intrigued.

 

They're fun if you like Monster Hunter, if you don't like Monster Hunter, don't bother

 

Pretty sure ME2 has a motion comic that guides you through the big choices in ME1 but I think that was only on the PS3? Idk

 

Looked it up, you can get on 360 and PC too

 

I would encourage people to play Mass Effect 1 first. The combat is definitely weaker, but everything else is on par (or better) than the rest of the series, and learning all the lore in that game was so exciting. If you care about story at all, then I really would encourage playing the first. And even with a questionable ending, the trilogy still has one of the best stories in a video game in my opinion anyway. I think you have to start small in ME1 to really feel the weight of things in the next 2.

 

Catherine just got launched on PC today. Sega says they want to do more PC ports.

 

I think playing through ME1 made my experience with ME2 way better. I get it kinda plays like trash, but all that crew bonding>>>>>

 

The crew bonding!! It's definitely one of the most special things about the series. Some of the best parts of ME2 are when you catch up with your old pals in different corners of the galaxy.

 

all this ME talk just made me realize how much ME:A was such a bummer... even the multiplayer. my cousin and I spent so much time on ME3 multiplayer, i'd play if that was just a stand alone.

 

It's not the full body version though.... Weird

 

Mass Effect never appealed to me. Love science fiction, love action, love RPG games, but every second of gameplay I have ever seen has turned me off. Dislike something about Bioware's characters/controls. I'd play Sniper Ghost Warrior series again over Mass Effect.

 

The multiplayer was surprisingly fun. I played it way more than I expected. Even more than most games that are multiplayer focused.

Bioshock 2 was another multiplayer mode I had a surprising amount of fun with.

 

There's a lot of single player oriented games that have multiplayer modes I've enjoyed way more than most multiplayer games. Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal is one of my favorites. Their "Node control" mode or whatever was great and you could use vechicles.

 

I thought the multiplayer was good, but yeah didn't play it nearly as much/have the same feeling about it. Probably directly related to how much of a bummer the rest of the game was

 

that said, give me another mass effect trilogy remaster, I'll shamelessly buy all those games a 3rd time

 

Is there already a remaster? I've never heard of that.

 

All I've played is ME1 years ago and I couldn't get into it

 

my mistake, I'm thinking of that collectors edition trilogy they released a little while after the 3 came out, wasn't a remaster just re-released as a set

 

Oh no worries, I don’t remember that either but I probably just skimmed over it since I had them all.

Eh, I wish Netherrealm would at least try to advertise with someone else other than Scorpion. Regardless, look forward to the game.
