okay wow so inquisition just opened up big time, i have multiple zones to choose from but i still have so much shit to do in the hinterlands, is there a way to see what level you should be for each quest?

I remember spending so much time in the first area, Hinterlands, and then progressing the story and it all opened up and thinking "shit". If you do most of the Hinterlands you'll find yourself overpowered but I usually prefer that in games like this.

I remember when it came out there were loads of articles telling people to leave the bloody hinterlands

a little lost on gearing though. is crafting the best way to acquire gear or will i get good shit from questing too? i really don't like crafting in almost any RPG lol

You'll be fine without crafting a bit later, it's not a major thing.

The health system in RDRII is a bit confusing to get used to, but wow to this game on everything else so far. First person mode is amazing.

I WISH I enjoyed crafting in RPGs, but it just always overwhelms me and feels like a waste of time.

So tell me something awesome Supporter

FFXIV is probably the only RPG I've ever enjoyed crafting in and even that is just "pretty good"

Yeah I was gonna say I feel like FF XIV is the only game that really has a payoff for crafting of the RPGs that I have grown up on.

I don't necessarily agree, but I also feel this at the same time. I do like RPGs, but I think I actually preferred them last gen. They definitely feel very overwhelming to me now with how big they all are and how much there is to do.

Are there any games you can recall actively using the crafting system?? Just curious.

vanilla wow crafting was rewarding but the system has remained largely untouched since then, the changes in legion were mostly superficial and it seemed more of the same in bfa.

i prefer the feeling of going out and questing/looting for my gear, not crafting

Yes doing hard quests, a string of quests, or finding something really well hidden that is powerful for that time in the game is extremely rewarding. A pretty big gripe I have with some RPGs is when most of the equipment is just found in the next new towns shop. It's games that I love too, Earthbound is a great example. Luckily Earthbound is so solid that it doesn't hurt the game.

Final Fantasy games are good at having a balance of relying on vendors but also if you wander and explore enough in caves/dungeons/castles, you will find some nice equipment that will last you for a decent time. Of course FF always has the unlock-able ultimate weapons you can get before end game which is always difficult but very rewarding.

    yeah good okay Prestigious

I don't wanna craft or cook recipes, I just want to farm for mushrooms

most crafting systems are too tedious and grindy for me, also my least favorite thing about RPG’s is excessive menus and crafting adds to that a lot
