I thought the conference was fine, but nothing mind blowing to be honest. I'm excited for all those guys and girls finally getting a good opportunity and think this is great for the business. Production needs to be ramped up because my god was it a disaster on the stream.

 

From what I'm reading Bayleys contract expires after this year?

 

yeah the talking points and talent signings were great but it looked and sounded bad

Man besides so many great indies, i'd also love some underused wwe defectors to go there: shelton benjamin, zack ryder, luke harper...

 

Only major surprises were PAC and Janela/Ford. I was convinced the latter two were wwe bound.

 

Penelope had a tryout a few weeks ago. I'm guessing she didn't get an offer and she went with this instead. Its actually very surprising that they aren't with WWE.

Already sounds like they're working out partnerships with international promotions. They could work out a deal with PWG or someone similar to work a few shows in the meantime.

 

I hope aew gives healthcare and vacation time, I'd get the app or whatever immediately

 

I just hope that AEW doesn't go the route of constantly taking easy shots at WWE in their storylines and everything. Like, a milder version of the way Vampiro talks on Lucha Underground. It's just annoying as fuck

agreed. Something that Vince figured out 40 years ago is that it's all about production man. I admit I'm totally a noob when it comes to the wrestling indie scene but nothing on that video got me amped enough to make this stuff must watch yet.

 

I’m also with whoever said they would watch this if it’s on a channel I have or easy to stream. The press conference was super cliche but hey you gotta say something. The whole “we’re aren’t going to tell you who to boo or cheer thing” was a very WWE thing to say. I know they try to cast heels and faces and it backfires but I wouldn’t want to get rid of heels and faces completely

 

Seems like Khan is very serious about healthcare for wrestlers who want to sign an exclusive deal with the company.

That’s probably very very enticing for a lot of people and will be something they look at whenever they hit free agency in the future.

Not to mention the rumored six figure deal for performers if they want to sign on with the company.

The more benefits aew can give to wrestlers the more talent they'll get and the more it'll put pressure on bigger promotions to give more.
