Coming early next year to the Nintendo Wii U and NX.

Made this thread because eventually I'm going to have to stop spamming the E3 thread with all of my Zelda hype.

Looking forward to people slagging this off on release and deciding retroactively that Skyward Sword was good after all, like with every other big Zelda game.

Seriously though it looks very promising.

I can't see many people preferring Skyward Sword to this but I know what you mean, ha.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

    I really don't have a good excuse why I don't have a Wii U right now.

If there's backwards compatibility on the NX you might as well just wait for that.

This looks promising but after watching all of the treehouse footage, Im a bit worried about it. I see a lot of the bad parts of skyward sword in the shrines. There are a lot of ideas that I've been wanting for a long time here, but Im sceptical that they will be able to pull it off.

Easily the best game shown at E3.

what bad parts? Most of the criticism I see of Skyward Sword is directed at how linear and hand holdy that game is. What were your problems with that game? The one worry I have about the shrines at the moment is that I think if they all have the same kind of vibe it could get a bit bland when you get to your 50th one or so. I love the idea of having a ton of little mini dungeons scattered around the map though in addition to the real deal.

What I was judging this off of is the two non-tutorial shrines that they showed on Treehouse near the end. In terms of puzzles, both were very simple. In Skyward Sword, there were a ton of boring mini dungeons where you were kind of just going through the motions of solving very similar puzzles over and over again and thats what I got from these. Every time Link has had to use one of his rune powers its just been so obvious. It seems like they are even putting little posts with blue lights on them everywhere you have to use the time stop power. They seem to be taking steps away from hand holding in other parts of the game, but I'm worried that these kinds of puzzles are going to be the norm here.

  14. You don't have to, it'll be coming to NX!

But seriously, I want this so much. Love that it's basically Zelda + Skyrim, because I'm a huge RPG fan.

I feel like there's surely going to be way more complex puzzles here, they're just not going to show them on a live stream. Anything too complex could have gone wrong and they might not have been able to finish it. Maybe I'm putting too much faith in the game but they seem to be trying so hard in so many aspects I can't see them making an entire game of simple puzzles.

I hope you're right. At this point, I have close to zero faith in Nintendo so I'm expecting this game to be half great ideas and half wasted potential.

A Wii U or the NX, Nintendo's next console.

Skyward Sword still had my favorite Zelda boss battle of all time.

I go back and do that one for fun all the time, especially when I show the game to someone. I love that we can go back to the boss battles all from one central location.

Man, this look amazing. I'll absolutely be getting the NX or Wii U just for this.

Since we're on the topic, favorite boss battles are Ganon from OOT, and basically every Twilight Princess boss.

My lone complaint so far: the lack of overworld music. Not super crazy about the environmental noises. Walking out into Hyrule/Termina field and hearing the Hyrule theme was always so amazing.
