  1. Hopefully Matt has more of a creative say to this new stuff. I'm sure it will be more Matt-ish than California was. I have faith in that. But we'll seeeeeee... I would absolutely love for my low expectations to be exceeded.

To lend some credit to it they were completely up front with how California was going to sound.

I always said I believed they played it safe because it was Matts first go with them and they had to learn to gel. It was their first album with Matt, he’d never written with mark before and they had to play it safe to get fans’ toes wet with this new blink. This will be where they shine with this lineup imo

  3. Fingers crossed!!! I hope you're right. I'm sure you are. But I'm just worried that it's going to be overshadowed by the production. But what do I know! Let's see how it goes.

Yeah curious is the word. I've pretty much come to terms with the fact this blink doesn't make music "for me" anymore but I still want to know where they're taking things. It's basically just curiosity at this point after 20 years of being a blink nerd.

I feel like Feldmann is the kind of guy who would say he’s “pushing the boundaries of music” on whatever album he was working on, whatever it sounded like

I think its cool that we really dont know what the new songs are gonna sound like. The only things i think we can count on are the typical Feldy production (sadly) and a few poppier songs (for relevance and singles). Other than that it will be interesting to see which route they take.

I feel like you can say this really before any band releases an album, but I would say for blink I’m pretty confident there will be no surprises. They have their direction.

I was just thinking that they (according to the band) are experementing. They have done that before but with Tom, not really with Matt. If they really are experementing and let Matt shine more it would probably be something different from what we've heard from blink before.

How did you go about finding the audio?

  14. Lots are from my own collecting over the years, some are from other people’s collections, some are rips I made from YouTube.

    Must've been a really interesting/fun/exhausting (lol) journey.

What audio in here stands out to you? Anything like an awesome performance, fun/awkward banter, etc?

  16. It took a really long time... haha. I was uploading about 8 or so a day while at work. :)

There’s a lot of gems on there. A lot of shows where they play certain songs live for the very first time, which is awesome to me. But one of my very favorite bootlegs on here is from a free private radio show they did back in 2000 in San Diego. There’s video of the whole show on YouTube but the guys super funny and the setlist was cool.

I saw a post on reddit regarding blink bootlegs yesterday and almost shared in here, thinking you’d be especially interested. Then I saw that it was your post lolol

Off the top of my head because I have most of the bootlegs too:

The 98 KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas is good quality. 1999 in Montreal. November 1999 in LA is a good one because it was one of the performances they recorded for the live CD. 2000 in San Diego like Brad said and New Jersey in 2000. 2001 in New Jersey and Ohio are good. Paris in 2004 is another good sounding one. Zepp Japan in 2004. Any of the Leeds/Redding performances in 2003 and 2014 are good. Toronto in 2003. Las Vegas and KROQ Christmas in 2011.

My favorite one is Camden, NJ in 2004 best sounding audio out there, sounds like it was recorded right from the soundboard professionally. Tom rips on the crowd a lot which is funny.

For newer shows the Chicago 2017 is a good sounding one and the iHeart Radio NY performance in 2016 is good because they played songs like Always and Up All Night that they stopped playing once California dropped.

Just spent the last half hour listening to this one, awesome quality. Thanks for putting this all together!

Just when I think I'm off the Blink bus, they come back and hook me right in again. Going to listen to Enema and Dude Ranch tomorrow I think.

Really wish I was old enough to have seen peak Blink between 98-04. Seen them a few times post reunion, but listening to these bootlegs just makes me sad I missed that whole era.

The TOYPAJ and Pop Disaster Tours were amazing compared to anything that followed. I would take those tours and sets over anything they did after. Unfortunately I never got to see them before 2001 so I can’t compare anything that came before. But they really seemed like a different band even during the Untitled Tour run. No banter or back and forth. Musically they never sounded better but it was just different seeing them live post 2003.

I think if I had to see one tour run over again it would be the TOYPAJ era run (just factoring in set list and nothing else like supporting acts etc).
