Most of the crowd is going to be very confused but I’m very stoked lol

 

Umm... Just really want to understand your and others point on this case. For me, it seems absurd that 17 (se-ven-teen) yr old guy can be forced (physically forced) to have a sex encounter where his role is “active”, no matter with whom. In this case woman, but anyway: he should be in a specific physical state to have sex, isn’t he? So if guy’s disgusted or even not comfortable then how the whole thing can make sense? And it wasn’t like she promised him a new milestone in his career, or I dunno, blackmailed him. Not to mention that legal consent age in the US is from 16 to 18. How’s Asia a pedophile?? Now important note: I am NOT trying to troll or be rude, I’m trying to understand . I am dumb European guy, so I’d appreciate an explanation on this. Because in my opinion Matt is overreacting but I can understand him. Also my mention of the word “pedophile” comes from Matt’s insta comments regarding Asia, that’s not I’m trying to mock u or anything. Sorry for my English, it could be better:$ thanks in advance for clarification

 

Asia is definitely not pedophile....I can understand people seeing that case problematic or getting mad over it,but some reactions are too much....

 

I see the first of the Metro shows last night had the same setlist as the tour last year which is a bit of a surprise.

Surely they won’t do the same set all four nights?

 

And to no surprise the drums sounded awful.

 

Derek is just so much more smoother and fluid than Jarrod

 

Ugh I know. It almost seems like Jarrod can't do a proper fill.

 

Dan said "we're going to try and switch it up the next few nights for those who are coming multiple nights... but would you be mad if we didn't?" and then him and Matt laughed

So I'm going in cautiously tonight expecting basically the same set lol I was definitely bummed last night

I didn't think the drums sounded bad though

 

I was very wrong and they fully changed the setlist tonight and it was amazing and 100x better than yesterday

Agreed! They sounded so much tighter tonight. I was so surprised with almost every song they played haha. Had such a better experience tonight.

 

Me too haha I left last night pretty disappointed but tonight was insane. Really bummed I’m not going the next two nights now but I’ll be surprised if they switch it up a good amount again

 

damn I only had tickets for Thursday and now I'm super bummed after seeing tonight's set list. I wanted to get one ticket for one more night but was never able to. Goodbye Forever is my favorite Trio song and I have yet to hear it live. that set list is 100% better in every way :(

 

How were the other songs off of Cursed ?

Drums sound fine to me. I don’t understand why so many people (not just on this site) are making Jarrod out to be a terrible drummer. Of course he’s not as perfect as Derek, but I’ve yet to hear any big mistakes or anything.

Most of Trio stans are going to trash him just because they love Derek so much. I don't think he's terrible by any means, just kind of stiff when you compare him to Derek which obviously isn't fair. I'm sure I wouldn't care if I was actually at a show though and I'm glad he learned a bunch of new songs.

 

According to Last.fm they played way more Good Mourning and Crimson the first night. And Warbrain in the encore! Therefore that setlist was better.

 

For me it's the small things, he barely plays the ride cymbal. To me that's signature Trio and him playing the crash sounds a little wack.

 

Very good! They were the live debut and they killed them. People were singing really loud for Cant Believe. I was hoping for Throw Me To The Lions but it’s ok. Little Help also got a great reaction and was really fun

I saw them play that set at Riot Fest and on their summer tour last year so it was just kind of a bummer to see it a third time when I was expecting a difference but agreed it’s still a great set

Although Hell Yes and 97 as an encore I think is overall better lol

 

Still mad I could never get tickets to any night no matter how many times I hit refresh, but that’s okay. There’ll be another time. But looking at that set list definitely has me grumbling a bit lol

 

Fingers crossed for Sweet Vampires and Goodbye Fire Island over the next two nights.

Alkaline Trio Setlist at Metro, Chicago

 

Ugh! Cooking Wine, San Fransico, All On Black, Throw Me To The Lions, Stupid Kid and Olde English are all very solid additions

Still like night 2 set the most but that’s a great set wish we got some of those night 1
