Finally got an email back after I sent another email about my pre-order after 5 weeks and they said it was lost in transit but are out of the clear vinyl so can only replace it with the white lp or give me a refund. I’m just upset I could have went out 5 weeks ago and probably found that at one of my record stores really like the clear vinyl look

What a damn TUNE. I don't think it initially stuck out to me as much but now it's easily the song I listen to the most from this album.

  17. See, I'd be interested in this, but since he mentions Brand New - as influential as they were, the way their story ended and what's come out about JL really don't make them the best candidates for a spotlight documentary. And whatever about their legacy, it needs to be reexamined in light of JL's actions and the rest of the band just fucking off when that news broke. There's no way something that took a look at the rise of Brand New (even in the wider context of emo's history) would get away with skipping over their implosion at the height of their popularity due to JL's behaviour. I'd be interested, but it'd need to be extensive, warts and all sort of stuff.

Feels like it would be easier to just leave em out. Plenty of bands to get the hypothetical message across.

I think a documentary like that would absolutely have to include them but they would need to spend a good amount of time on what happened

I think Brand New absolutely needs to be included in the context of the documentary, especially if they want to make it a poignant and potent commentary about the fallout of the emo scene in the wake of the “#metoo” movement. It’s an important part of the emo/punk culture, and it’s even more vital to bring to light to the issues that are correlated with the ideologies of “emo” sycophants

Honestly I would love if it included them, and then went into great detail of what JL did, and why they’re no longer relevant because of it. People need to know, and learn from it.

  22. Not mentioning them is absurd, mentioning them and leaving out how their band went from having a number 1 album to imploding days before a European tour - within three months - and why, is cowardly.

Matty is too tuned into these societal movements to leave it out, that’s why I have greater faith in him reaching into that aisle than others

  24. I doubt they'd gloss over it, especially considering how they tend to attack a lot of controversial topics pretty head on.

  25. I have faith but they'd really have to go all in if they went with this emo documentary idea and included BN.
