Y'all absorb too much of the cap for Antonio Brown to also give a 2nd rounder IMO

 

What I’m saying is Hopkins raw skills translate better to a bad offense, while Brown’s skills are so minute and complex that it takes a great QB knowing how he likes to run routes, in order to actually see & use all the ways he is more “skilled” and “precise” than Hopkins

In a bad offense Hopkins > Brown. In a good offense you see why Brown is the GOAT sans Jerry Rice.

They are 1a and 1b. I see the arguments for both. But I think Brown has a higher ceiling while Hopkins has a higher floor.

 

Fair enough, I don’t really think about the cap that much because the Steelers never spend money on free agents anyway lol

Not that that makes it impossible but damn does it make it undesirable to pay him $21 million to be an all-pro for the Jags haha

 

FWIW I agree with what you're saying about both players, I just also don't think it's Roethlisberger that's elevating Brown to what he is. Not to say Ben doesn't help, but I don't think he elevates AB so much that it wouldn't be worth trading Ramsey for him if you really really wanted him. (which you probably shouldn't)

 

I read this earlier today, for what it’s eorth. Ed is kind of a boob, but without fact-checking this he seems movable in the right deal

Eh, Ben is very aggressive, and very good at being aggressive. Yeah he throws too many picks, but he also puts the ball in that perfect spot for Antonio to make an impossible sideline or double covered catch, on a regular basis. Even in the playoffs in the fourth quarter. He gives Antonio a lot of opportunities to show why he is dominant even when he is perfectly covered.

I think Antonio would make Bortles better but I think there would also be LOADS of missed opportunities where Brown positioned himself PERFECTLY to make a mind bending play and Bortles just couldn’t be accurate enough to give him a chance

 

The Texans offense is very good

Like, I feel like Brown needs that QB who is willing to do dumb fucking shit to get him the ball, yet skilled enough to pull it off. I feel like he wouldn’t be quite as amazing if he had a more conservative good QB like Brady who won’t throw to him if he’s covered well

 

This is true and the one QB we had who had accuracy problems and not decision making problems was also the one QB who could not throw to Deandre Hopkins to save his life.

Yeah I can't think of one at all. I thought maybe Bradford for Foles but there were picks in that one too. Even Bailey for Portis had picks haha.

Bailey was unbelievable. He was an interception king AND fantastic in run support.

If Ramsey keeps developing his ballhawking skills (so far he’s gotten way better at it than he was in college) I think you could compare him and Bailey. Bailey was faster but Ramsey is stronger and angrier.

 

Yeah, a great CB is worth any RB in my book.
