I don't think I could pick a "favorite" off of Goodness yet.

but I couldn't pick a single favorite off of Home either.

 

"Soft Animal" is easily my favorite song of the year, I think. I honestly find myself coming back to specific tracks on here more often than I do the record on the whole. I love the whole thing more with each full listen, but for whatever reason, that's not the way I listen to it most frequently.

Was about to talk about how much I love Housebroken but I forgot that's like the most taboo thing to do on this site, haha

 

This sounds like fun. I think mine goes like this:

scope/ your deep rest/ discomfort/ dendron
introduction/ in framing
life in drag/ wildflowers
housebroken

 

i mean i don't dislike a single song on home
housebroken has made me more uncomfortable since i realized the other meanings but as a song i like it definitely. not in any way i feel the need to skip it.
it's less the fact that you're supposed to dislike it more than it is respecting the opinions of those who are triggered by it

 

Pretty much. That one harmony scream at that one point (2vague) is the only positive of that song.

 

Every song is a standout to me ha.

 

I think it's just musically not a good song/incredibly out of place song.

 

I graduate Friday and end of reel is p big for me right now

 

Two Deliverances is easily my favorite track by this band for me, with End of Reel pretty close to it. Life in Drag is the only Hotelier song I'm guaranteed to skip.

Agree to disagree, I guess. Melodically, it's incredibly interesting to me. Really effective build. I don't mean to disrespect anyone, either. Apologies if I did that. I can see how someone could be upset or discomforted by the subject matter.

 

Uh oh is Life in Drag hate frowned upon in these parts?

other than rankings
but it's not kanye albums so we're fine

shouldn't be, it's the most out of place song on the record sonically

 

See I don't feel that way. The end of wallflowers sets it up beautifully

 

I don't think Life In Drag is anywhere near as out of place as Housebroken.

Now see, I feel like I'm the one missing something with "Two Deliverances." Song still does next to nothing for me. The vocal melody and arrangement just feel very pieced together for me. Not nearly as natural as everything else they do is.

 

Yeah, what a jarring transition haha

Based off my general feelings towards Goodness, I'm really surprised how much I like Fear of Good
