I'm gonna reverse sear. I'm torn between au poivre and bordelaise... leaning au poivre. Will probably just take some of the steak trimmings and use that to start my sauce so it can all be ready at the same time.

 

I lean towards au poivre more but that’s just because I love creamy sauces. I’m sure either will be great

You guys I just discovered the joys of tea.

I'm sick so I had mint tea today and enjoyed it. I've always liked peppermint and peach but that's it, tho I've had a few kinds over the last few days of sickness and none were as bad as I imagined so I think I'd enjoy more varities. When I drank a lot of soda and juice I found tea too watered down tasting, but now that I drink mostly water I think I'm used to things not tasting so like intense and sugary

You're drinking with tea bags I assume? You should try loose leaf sometime. I'm sure there's a place near you that sells it and you can get an infuser ball thingy from target for five bucks.

 

@Ken was it you talking about Omaha steaks?

Im there right now, which steakhouse should I go to? I want to see what the fuss is about. But all the places Im seeing on Yelp have grill marks... i.e. not cast iron steakhouse style and Im skeptical.

Cooking spare ribs braised in Guinness tonight and I hope it works out...served on a cauliflower mash with veggies. It's distracting me at work just thinking about it and my day literally just started. Gonna be a long 8 hrs.

 

My wife's sister got her one for xmas and she absolutely loves it...

 

My mom always makes Bún riêu for the holidays. Rice vermicelli noodles, crab meat, and a bunch of other stuff in a tomato broth.

 

I have decided milk is not good for my stomach anytime I drink it so I am giving up milk(for almond milk) but still the same.

i ate so much shitty food this holiday

smoked korean inspired short rib for 4 hours.. made a bunch of fixins to 'make your own' lettuce wrap. meat was a little tough because it was hard to control the smoke temperature when it's pouring rain and the short ribs were not meaty. definitely will go to a butcher for a meatier short rib next time




and then i made spicy wontons



i also made a mushroom pea risotto with seared scallops. AND short rib bolognese. and i also downed a bag of hot cheetos. i am now going to cleanse forever.

 

These all look incredible! I want to eat at your house the next time you cook like this haha
