I’d say it’s more being impulsive than trolling. I will often make impulsive decisions and then regret those decisions later, hence the cycle Dylan pointed out. And he isn’t wrong. So we can continue to examine and pull apart my character or we can let this go.

I come into this thread each time to see if anyone is actually talking about the music, I don't know why I bother.

 

How could you read any portion of the last 2 pages of this thread and still think this is an acceptable response lmao

 

Not everyone knows the situation. Not everyone reads the thread before posting.

The title of this thread is Pinegrove - Skylight, not Pinegrove - Abusers. So I think it’s pretty fair for people to come here expecting the talk about the music.

Change or delete the thread if that’s not the case anymore. It will prevent a lot of these ugly attacks on each other.

 

Then close the damn thread. It never goes anywhere.

Person 1: *talks about music*
Person 2: *brings up allegations/article/singer being shitty*
Person 1: "I just want to talk about music"
Person 2: "that isn't acceptable given the circumstances"
Person 3: "I saw some tweets and know people that know he's shitty"
Person 4: "why can't we get along"
Person 2,3,5,6,7: " shut the fuck up"
Person 6: "why do we have to explain this over and over"
Person 1: apologizes

*Conversation dies out*

1 Week later.
Person 1 or 8: *talks about music*

Aaaaaaaand repeat.


I feel like just about everyone on all sides is sick of this obnoxious cycling.

 

This doesn't really happen, it's the people that "just want to talk about the music" that get mad when the circumstances are brought up, as if we owe it to them to not talk about it for some reason

 

Funny how the "both conversations can happen at once" crowd are the same ones that get most upset when the allegations are brought up.

 

No. If you know Pinegrove well enough to post about them on a forum, I find it hard to believe you don't know about the allegations against the lead singer of the band. Furthermore, if you post in literally any thread without reading it first, what are you doing? Seriously? It took me 5 minutes to catch up today and I haven't posted here in months.

I agree the thread should be closed. That's not up to us unfortunately, but we can guide the conversation back to a helpful place and not encourage or enable people to support the band

 

Honestly I wholeheartedly agree with @loudasallgetout, the thread should be renamed "Pinegrove Abuse Allegations Discussion." It would 100% prevent confusion and be a good change. I think any thread about a band involved in a situation regarding allegations should be renamed similarly. Keeps the conversation focused. Unfortunately, the thread was started by someone who is no longer a member and so only a mod can change it.
