I've only seen The Devil's Rejects and didn't care much for it. I'll need to watch his other stuff before I can in good conscience take up one side or the other

If you didn't like that one, you probably won't like the rest of his stuff. 1000 Corpses was great for 3/4 of it, the last 1/4 felt like a completely different movie. Then there is the Halloween stuff which blew, and lastly the awful Sherri Moon appreciation - wanna be throwback The Lords of Salem, which was simply terrible.

I like Rob Zombie movies a lot more than I ever thought I would.

I'm glad I saw it at home by myself for the first time. Being in a place you're comfortable makes disturbing shit that much more worse haha.

The Lords of Salem was a little frustrating for me, but overall, I like it a lot. Halloween 2 ruled. I used to love TDR but I tried rewatching it a few months back and just couldn't do it. Need to rewatch 1000 Corpses soon but I suspect I'd still be into it.

See, I enjoy his crazy and brutal movies over his "real" movies like Halloween 1/2 and Lords of Salem. He does crazy very well.

I don't like Zombie's Halloween movies, but I really enjoy everything else. Especially 1000 Corpses.

Saw Corpses in theaters and is still one of the crazier movie experiences I've had.

  10. I've enjoyed each of Zombie's films to varying degrees except for Lords of Salem. The rest were messy in a fun/crazy way, that one was just a mess.

yeah i thought they all were fine for different reasons. still enjoy TDR and haven't watched House of 1000 Corpses in a really long time. i mainly remember rainn wilson being in it. i remember a pretty devoted group of people loving H2.

The doctor thing with those mechanical arm things is still creepy AF.

But doesn't fit in with the first 3/4 what so ever. So random and weird.

The entire second half of From Dusk Til Dawn doesn't "fit", but that doesn't make it bad

Wondering if anyone else has seen this-- went to the tail end of a film festival in Ann Arbor and caught a movie called "The Eyes of My Morther." It was not at all what I was expecting (I didn't even fully realize it was a horror movie based on the description.) it's shot entirely in black and white, features a queer Portuguese anti-heroine as the lead. Overall very cool, but I felt there were a few definite "first film" things in it (scenes dragging on, a lack of exposition in some places.) Anyway, if anyone has seen it, let's talk about it, because I'm still unpacking it tbh.

Well, I guess not, but you knew what was coming from the trailer.

  21. The Conjuring 2 was a ton of fun. I might put the first film above it just for its iconic scenes and imagery, but the second was almost certainly scarier and more ambitious in scope. The setups, the scenery, just good stuff all around, even if it was pretty silly at times.

Downloaded American Guinea Pig, I think I'm going to watch it sometime this week.

i know this has probably been done to death but i wanna know. if pressed, what is everyone's favorite horror film? i get asked a lot when people find out i really like the genre but have a really hard time answering.

Not necessarily horror as its a mix of genres, but off the top of my head Tremors
