    Right???

Like that wasn't a joke from me, that'd be a legit move hahaha. The tough part is matching what Carolina would want for him but I think Bouye would help.

  5. Cam’s shoulder actually worries me a lot. The team came out and said he doesn’t need surgery which to me is a bad thing. I interpreted that as there’s nothing that can do to fix it. They’re saying “rest as much as possible” but that’s what they’ve already done. He has been super limited outside of games for the last two years (ever since the injury happened). He rarely throws in practice and was limited in camp. He started out great this season and that rest was paying off. But as the season went on he got worse. By week 15 he was awful. And even within individual games you could see him getting worse. First half would be good. Second half bad. I just don’t see how “resting as much as possible” is going to show different results than what we’ve already seen.

Cam said he’s been going to the trainers and they keep telling him they don’t have answers. The resting comments confirm that. It sucks.

It'd be an monumentally stupid move to get rid of Cam Newton.

There is no one available in FA or the draft that could come close to replacing him.

    Hypothetical:

    - Carolina trades / cuts Cam

    - sign Bridgewater to a low / decent deal

    - get another HB to compliment CMC

Do fun stuff with those three and their young WR

Eventually they’ll need money for CMC, Luke and others and if they can get around paying a lot of QB money they can keep their core together.

Not saying this is is what they should do or that Cam can be easily replaced, but they should shift their focus off of the passing game and build around what they have

I wish no harm on anybody but for some people its just karmic and I don’t have sympathy. Like if Tyreek Hill got hurt I wouldn’t pity him

This. Def wouldn’t trade for a guy who has been hindered by the same injury for multiple seasons. If not for the fucked up shoulder I’d be all about that trade idea

    Foles to Carolina.

  16. Well yeah if the shoulder was fine then we’d be in the playoffs and 0% chance the trade is even thought of.

  17. I agree it’d be dumb to just cut him right now but we have to start looking for what’s after him. I think he’s pretty close to finished. I hope I’m wrong though.

A dude just told me “you’re in the south now” to justify being a Trump supporter. LOL.

Good reasoning champ. So you don’t even have a political reason you just take pride in cultural ignorance. Nice.

  20. I think everyone knows Keith Butler is a bad coordinator but watching the film breakdowns of his playcalling is baffling. I really hope he is gone after the year.

While this is a lovely theory, the guy hasnt played a meaningful NFL snap in 3 years. The question, genuinely, is why Bridgewater over a rookie? Because also, Bridgewater isnt gonna come cheap...while he's technically on a $6mil deal, its actually ~$14mil had he become a starter ($250k/game he took 50% of snaps, millions in incentives for yards and tds). That's his baseline of any starters deal, so you're looking at bare minimum something like that Mike Glennon 3/45 contract. More likely the Bortles 3/56/26 deal is what he'd want. The Panthers would almost certainly pay more in real cash in 2019 for Bridgewater (between signing bonus, etc) than keeping Cam on his current deal.

And thats before considering the 2019 draft is a nightmare for QBs, and that 2019 FA pool is comically bad. Aside from an outside world where Eli, Stafford, Carr, etc get dealt, Bridgewater could end up as the only viable option and get fuck you money from a desperate team.

Meanwhile Cam gets 5/140 to go play for Tamp Bay and throw to a better WR in Mike Evans than Carolina ever handed him in his entire career...and if we dont count Steve Smith...better than any 2 WR's he's ever thrown to combined.

I just remember the Panthers at 6-2, looking good, then getting absolutely murdered by the Steelers. That pick 6 that changed the game early was Watt coming in unblocked, and in a 52-14 game, they sent Cam back out to get murdered again on a sack because they put their RB to stop Cam Heyward...

Since I doubt that O-line got any better, no wonder Cam's broken.

    Just watched KC @ SEA.

Fucking damn. Russell Wilson is on fire this year. The precision on those downfield throws is terrifying. Let alone his mobility under pressure.

That one to Lockett that he arced high; the one that dropped at an almost vertical angle perfectly into his hands right by the sideline... jeeeeeesus. The defender had A+ coverage but that throw was simply unstoppable.

And then to follow that up with ANOTHER bomb to Baldwin that set up the game winning TD. Like, he shook everyone with that throw to Lockett, and then had the composure, consistency and the guts to just fucking throw deep again right away and win the game.

It’s one thing to make a top 5 throw by any QB all season, but the fact he just shrugged his shoulders and threw deep again like it was just an ordinary play really blew me away. Especially in a close game on national primetime TV against a powerhouse team. Mahomes almost came back and Wilson slammed the door on them with two “fuck you” 30+ yard throws.

I just said earlier this week that Wilson is my favorite QB. That has been confirmed. He’s a dorky choir boy IRL but I love watching him play. He made several insane big plays when I saw him last year in Jax too - we found a way to win a high scoring game because Bortles had one of his rare good games, but our defense just could not put him away.
