I’d disagree. His work on Box Car Racer and +44 (though I’m assuming you also meant these in addition to blink) as well as Transplants, Goldfinger, Psycho White, DJAM TRVS BRKR are all projects I’ve enjoyed. I thought his solo record was pretty dope as well, could’ve been better/shorter but it’s got some solid jams.

 

I pretty much mean post-reunion. Obv not counting BCR and +44 and some Transplants stuff. I'll give him his drums for Goldfinger but other than that I don't really care about anything he does outside blink. And then endlessly spamming that Lil Gnar and XXXTentacion crap, ugh

 

Travis is by far the nicest guy in the band, from my expierence. But yeah, he’s not perfect, that’s for sure.

Travis Barker not a great drummer?
Well as a drummer myself, I’d love to see everyone who thinks he’s just “good” pull off the stuff he does.

 

He's sloppy as hell and his time is off. I mean as a drummer myself I prefer more groove and more smooth and crisp playing. Travis doesn't provide any of that. I can live without the flash

 

Respond with a video of him being off and I’ll credit you because I’ve never ever seen or heard him being off before

 

Seeing him live was more than enough for me. His fills aren't anything great either. Like I said, I'll take a more fluid drummer any day of the week.

 

The way this article is written has SICKENED me haha. So terrible.

 

I like when "show your work" is met with "I saw him live I don't have to."

 

So you don't actually mean "he's good, not great" you actually just mean you prefer other drummers over him.

The end of this video is the *only* time I’ve question Travis’ timing - and because of that, I immediately assume he obviously knows something I don’t and therefore this is likely genius. And also, for good measure, I, too, am competent at drums.

 

I don't miss Tom's TV singing.

 

Remember the gem of a performance of ATST they did when they firsts reunited on Jay Leno?

 

Seriously when they were arguing about Travis's inability to keep time this video immediately came to my mind. In fact I remember when I watched this live on TV 14 years ago, I remember thinking "hmmm the drums aren't matching the guitar's tempo, Travis must be on some next level shit."

 

Aside from the awful singing that vid is hilarious just for the contrast of young Tom with old Tom. From the low slung guitar with aggressive straight arm strumming to holding it a little higher and tapping his foot while gently playing the guitar with his wrist and awkwardly swaying side to side.

 

BROTHER!

 

I remember watching that (I think) and “The Rock Show” live and being blown away by how bad he was. Haha. My only two thoughts were “Travis and Mark CAN’T be happy with that, right?” and “I hope less than ten people tuned in for this.”

Seriously, I feel like you have to go out of your away to TRY making it sound that bad. That was sabotage.

 

Not sure whether or not to make a “they must have recorded 48 songs during that time” joke or a “looks like they’re taking their time making their next album” joke.
