I hate that song deeply and I want any attempt to claim it’s fine and good and sexually liberating to die.

It’s literaly so fucking exhausting arguing with men because I’m sorry y’all but you will literally never be able to see beyond your privilege and it’s like most don’t even make an EFFORT to. Most don’t take their biases into account and do nothing to try and counteract them
And y’all it’s fucking exhausting. I’m so over it. I’m literally crying right now because I’m so over it lol WOW

My doctors are women and I still feel that. Around my periods I used to basically die once a month lol vomiting and experiencing intense abdominal and back pain and camping out on my bathroom floor for a day or two. Like yeah I was prescribed bc but idk I feel like if this was a problem associated with men, it would be evolved past "here take this pill every day that can mess with your hormones and have sucky side effects so you can even function." And now I've been getting intense migraines around my period that even bc doesn't help with and even when I passed out randomly a few months ago I feel like doctors were just kinda like eh. Like yeah my symptoms aren't crazy but I know how my body is supposed to feel, and it's not like this, so.... It sucks

anyone who fat shames a young woman who openly struggled with ED and substance abuse can fuck off and die in a fire, it's not okay with anyone but that's particularly vile

Last night on Game of Thrones, Maisie Williams had a nude scene. Relatively tame by the show’s standards, but still explicit nudity. I felt weird about it since she was 12 when the show started (I believe she was 20 when the scene was shot, and 22 now).

She said she was in control of what was shown and what wasn’t, so I don’t want to take away from her autonomy, but given the inherent inequalities in Hollywood nudity and power dynamic of 30-60 year old male directors/producers working with a 20-21 year old actress in a sex/nude scene, I don’t think the situation is quite in a vacuum.

I didn’t have a problem with the narrative of the scene, but the on-set reality and my honestly not knowing how old she was when watching last night after primarily knowing her as a literal child did make me uncomfortable. Is that unfair of me, since she is an adult? And was at the time of filming? I don’t want to infantalize her but I just automatically have concern about most onscreen sex/nudity (it’s incredibly rare for any actress to have the control Maisie did, and there’s a different expectation and standard for men in sex scenes). And I have trouble with the age thing too, since she was 11 or 12 when the series began, but I don’t think I would have had the same issue if she had a nude scene in a movie unrelated to Game of Thrones. Genuinely asking for perspective.

  24. You say you don't want to infantilize her, but it is exactly what you are doing. You would be okay if she had a nude scene elsewhere because the director didn't work with her when she was a child, is that what you mean there? Were you ever as uncomfortable with rape scenes (Sansa and Dany) from the show as you were with Arya's scene? What about Tommen and Margaery? Tommen is under the age of consent! (13/14 in show v. 21/22 for Margaery). Did you have a problem with Maisie being a child when she was still filming killing scenes? I get that you're okay with the consent of the scene itself, but I find that your concern is over the top here because at the end of the day, Maisie herself was comfortable doing this scene. Not only that, but you having such a problem with it also undermines Maisie as an adult and actor.
