The NFL does a lot of stupid things, but I don’t think the takeaway from the Josh Gordon situation is “wow the NFL sucks”

The take away is "fuck this anti-weed culture." Not specifically the NFL. They aren't the ones really driving it.

 

It's fucked up that standard medical practice in the NFL is to just pump dudes full of as much prescription heroin as possible and then dude hits a joint and is banned for life

 

For those wondering, I am not at all saying this instance was more than just marijuana. However, he did go into his history in that Uninterrupted video put out last summer:

I really hope he can get his life right. He seems like a good guy who is just weighed down by his past. Whether it's with football or not, I really hope him get to the right place for his entire life.

 

At this point I dont even think it should be about the weed with Gordon. He's obviously not in a good place mentally - hope he gets right and takes care of his demons.

I worked at a grocery store when I was 15 that drug tested every employee

Now I’m working at an environmental tech company and I never even had to sign a paper to authorize one lol

 

Also with respect to Josh Gordon, because we probably wouldn’t have gotten to this topic without this news, I don’t think there is a wrong time to criticize the NFL and their fake moral drug bullshit

That's amazing lol. It's funny, when I applied for my job they said they drug test. Turns out they don't test anyone.

 

Drug testing is expeeeeensive. Most employers use it as a threat more than anything. Unless you're operating heavy machinery or handling extremely sensitive information as part of the job I assume a mention of a drug test on a job posting is a bluff.

 

Yeah, it's very, very expressive. My buddy complains about getting random drug tests and I'm like dude, you work around machinery lol.

My brother was interviewing for a job once. He was going to be driving prescriptions from pharmacies to old people homes so obviously they wanted to drug test him. He smokes weed, but nothing else, but he wouldn't pass the test. They allowed him to take it at home, kinda as a wink and a nod that if you smoke weed they don't care, so he asked me to do it for him. He forgot that I had just recently gone through chemo and if i took it for him they'd be curious why there was platinum running through his veins haha

 

My work does drug testing when you're hired and then never again during your employment. They also do nicotine testing when you're hired

 

I'm pretty sure my work wouldn't actually care if you had weed in your system though when you take the test
