Look at the schedule for tonight and I realized that the Cavs were the only team I haven’t seen at least one game of this year.

So looks like Im locked in on Cavs-Hornets tonight.

Ibaka, Valanciunas, and Lowry out tonight. The basketball gods want the Bucks and the Celtics to catch up with us.

Monroe is starting at center with Chris Boucher as the backup. Turner and Sabonis are gonna murder us.

At least Van Vleet and Siakam are both listed as probable. It sounds like Norman Powell might be back, too. But yeah, that 5 spot isn't looking great.

Considering that OG's past wrist injury still seems to be affecting his shooting, I worry how those three will perform. And even if they're fine, our chemistry is all messed up from our lineup shifting so much. It's gonna be another sloppy one tonight.

  17. Rockets fans are so insecure they’re finding Scott Brooks quotes to hang onto now. Melo did more damage than can be explained to this team.

Idk how posting that quote makes us insecure lmao.

  20. It being the nine billionth quote or such tweet, from Scott Brooks of all people, y’all have troted out to defend the most boring basketball star of all time.

Half the posts from Rockets fans in here are like this. It’s why all the y’all ain’t ready posts are amazing to go read now. It was months of that .. now it’s this. The Beard defenders can’t take any criticism at without these exact kinda responses.

It’s why I still watch the choke job from last year or Harden getting benched while his team came back against the Clippers on YouTube.

I’ve been thinking about Harden lately and I’ve come to realize that he is to basketball what Floyd Mayweather is to boxing.

Floyd is inarguably an immensely successful and amazingly talented boxer. But his success has come by, essentially, maximizing his talent through a mastery of technicalities. While this system has maximized wins, it also made for incredibly boring viewing. This is where it put him at odds with a certain segment of viewers and boxing intelligentsia.

Likewise, Harden is unquestionably successful at exploiting the modern nba rules. He just does so in a way that doesn’t really make for dynamic viewing.

It was always hard to argue that Floyd’s dodging punches and landing comically soft jabs was actually good boxing. It’s equally as unsatisfying to say that Harden’s ability to draw so many fouls is an admirable display of craft.

  24. I wonder what the analogy is to the rest of the sport being better and more entertaining than ever ... boxing vs ufc? ... I don’t follow either enough to know of that works. But it definitely exaggerates how mind numbing Harden is to watch play basketball when Ben the worst teams in the league are more fun to watch on any given night.

That’s the thing, too. The talent and entertainment value of the NBA hasn’t been this high in at least 20 years. This is an honest to god golden age of the sport.

And that contrast can be rather unforgiving for Harden.
