I've heard of ghosting but this is ridiculous

I think it's fucked up that all ghosts are bougie, I'd be way more interested in like a plantation being haunted by a former slave than some white girl who died of pneumonia in the 1800s haunting an old Victorian manor

Thank you Ian and you're darn right. Personally I find it hard to believe, but part of me really wants to. My mom and brother swear up and down that our old house was haunted (and apparently a young boy drowned in the lake in the backyard soo) i dunno. I think if there were ghosts wouldn't there just be...more..? and, wouldn't more of them be attached to traumatic things such as slavery and violence and abuse
I dunno.

I think people have experienced weird shit that can’t necessarily be explained by what we consider “logical” but I also think that attributing those events to ghosts (especially in the classical sense) is a bunch of mumbo jumbo. Maybe one day science will be able to explain this stuff, who knows? But the issue is that these things aren’t repeatable. And also, if this is real, how has there never been one credible paranormal event been caught on camera by now?

I think there are definitely subtle things about human spaces, patterns and traces of past events left behind in things that aren’t quite consciously discernable, that key into people’s intuitions in ways that get processed as ghosts or spirits.

It’s super interesting to me cuz I kinda love it whenever our normalizing narratives about what reality is, or can be, break apart and push us to create new narratives - I think good science is kind of just doing that in a supervised way.

Sometimes I think we do definitely just project our own internal conflicts, the ghosts of others within ourselves who always stay with us as a sort of nebulous but indelible mark on our person, onto external events and claim paranormal mischief. A few weeks ago my mom saw a mailbox swing open by itself and called me to tell me she thought it was the ghost of her dead sister trying to send her a message
