I got record frames for a wedding gift, was gonna hang one of my variants of this album but then realized the album art might not be great to have hanging up haha

 

Definitely in my top 10 for this year, I had it at 5 for a while but it might end up a little lower. Which is not to say that this album is not a brilliant achievement because it really is.

I love the Explicit sticker. I find it hilarious.

I work with kids and teenagers, and probably won't have that particular record on the shelf when we have hang outs and such. It's simple, that while I don't find it pornographic, I know many parents will, and it's not a hill to die on when it come to the progressive social aspects of ministry.

 

ding ding ding. It's why I think this is better than any record released after ISSWS.

the video for Name Your God is amazing.

 

Finally bought this album this week and after listenting to it all week...a very solid addition to the Emery catalog, but I don't think its better than YWNA and I don't think that opinion is going to change. Still though, that is more on how high I am on YWNA than a slight on Eve.
Anyone else kinda feel like an album parallel thing going on with them at the moment? YWNA had a real The Question vibe to it, and Eve is very much in the vein of IOAM....so next album will be similar to ISSWS? Man that would be awesome.

 

I would expect less screaming as they get older but illl take quality releases like this one any day of the week.

 

Let me say this, I don’t know if eve is better than you were never alone but lyrically it effected me way more. Like these lyrics just hit home as someone who has lost their faith in Christianity for years now. Nothing has resonated with me stronger than a lot of the themes on this album.

 

I’ve been listening to this a lot the past week or so. There’d been a handful of little moments getting stuck in my head and had me come back to it a bunch.

 

Still love this record. Top tier Emery for me tbh.

Woke up from a "hell" dream and this song immediately inserted to consciousness. The religious fundamentalist mindset is a mentally horrible tough thing to have a foundation built on while growing up, when discarding it later in life. Been 4 years now and I still feel lost most days. Gotta echo teebs here and say even if musically, Eve doesn't hold up to earlier albums, the lyrics are incredibly weighted.

 

Sorry you're journeying through that process. Never had a hell dream but that sounds rough.

I have to agree with you - the lyrics here are some of their best. I love the music too.

Yea I think it’d be a little higher if I redid my EOTY. It’s less of a mood record so I’ve been putting it on a lot when I’m not sure what to listen to.
