This has me looking at the primary calendar now and wow....forgot there have been changes. California and North Carolina are part of the first Super Tuesday now. That's going to have major implications. Definitely helps Harris I would think.

Would also help a theoretical primary challenger to Trump I would think, California Republicans obviously hate the shit out of him.

the problem with rogan is that his show isnt explicitly political. crazy right wingers make up a fraction of his guests. he has lefties on that he'll sit there and agree with for three hours. and a ton of guests who have nothing to do with politics. im not sure if he's a grifter or just an idiot, but itd definitely be impossible to get him deplatformed, but this definitely makes him way more useful and more dangerous of a tool for the far right to have in their favor than, say, dave rubin, who is very much running a niche show for a very specific audience. rogan casts such a wide net that its very beneficial for these right wingers to get on his show and put their ideas in the ears of people listening that are otherwise apolitical.

So the tweet is from after the first round of elections when it was pretty apparent that everyone should vote for Macron....and the second one is including quotes from everyone involved saying that it was not an endorsement and the only one calling it an "apparent sign of support" was the reporter for Reuters editorializing it as such.

    Nice.

  11. You're kidding yourself if you believe that wasn't a de facto endorsement

And you're reaching really hard to 'own the libs' right now for some reason despite a lot of other stuff going on that's probably a bigger deal than Obama calling the front runner in the French election two years ago to basically warn him to not take Trump's bullshit personally and keep working with America regardless of how much Trump runs his mouth. Meh.

Lol...I guess the shallow rebuttal here is Paul did go on to say that it would be a big deal if he was offering Russia shit in return, but he also definitely gave Trump the benefit of the doubt there while assuming HRC was certainly guilty of pay for play.

  15. Where exactly is the reach? That a purposely publicized phone call to a candidate with whom he is ideologically aligned and later explicitly and enthusiastically endorsed is a de facto endorsement? I don't see it.

Btw Obama's sec of transportation supports the same regressive austerity tax so yeah don't think it's a reach at all

I support raising the gas tax too. It's how a lot of our highways are funded. I'd love to raise the gas tax and lower subsidies for oil companies, honestly. Would raise the shit out of gas prices and hurt my pocket, for sure.

But unlike Macron, I don't support gutting union protections and lowering taxes on the rich at the same time. I also don't endorse it as the best or only way to fight Climate Change. Raising the gas tax isn't automatically "austerity".

are you actually suggesting that endorsing Marcon over LePen was a bad move?

Yeah I'm feeling really good about climate policy right now in terms of momentum. Young people finally seem to be waking up about this issue to throw their weight around on it a little bit.

I'm sure some pollster will come to pour cold water on my hopes by showing me how unimportant it is to voters, but whatever. It's nice to feel like it's a winning issue right now.

If they could find some way to push health care and climate change to the front of the debate for the next two years, the left would have a very successful 2020

  23. Another reason I don’t think old af white dudes, and specifically Biden, should be anywhere around this moment.
