considering it's been a shit show of a year for Kanye, was wondering what people want out of him for the next year? i personally kinda want him to do nothing next year or just release Yhandi and that's it.

 

I’d like him to pause his music career and all public appearances for a long while, seek therapy, continue taking his medications, and listen to his loved ones with an open heart.

I want him to take (at least) a year off. Those lyrics weren't just bad, they were horrifying, telling, and quite frankly, incredibly triggering.

Since he's doing everything against what we'd hope, I fully expect a new album next year with a lengthy tour. But I sincerely hope he's not past the point of taking stock of his life and getting into some serious self reflection.

Which is largely supported by the loud symphony of voices (and I'm speaking entirely generally, before feathers in here get ruffled - this isn't passive aggression, just an observation) who aren't demanding he examine his behavior.

Why would anyone change if they don't need to? This is the larger cultural problem we're facing and why separate the art from the artist isn't valid yet. Human beings don't change unless they're given a reason to, generally speaking. So if he could show himself this repeatedly over the last few years and still find so much uncritical support, why on earth would he?

Yeah, he's got critics. But if the critics (even the former fans) and the fans are largely different people, it's easy to tell yourself "it's them, not me".

Kanye has every right to go at him honestly, this is all great entertainment though.
