i mean sure they can have passions and do something they enjoy, but I still don't get the urge to record yourself talking about a subject you're at best probably a hobbiest in or just talking about your life or sharing stories or inside jokes or giving your opinion on whateverthefuck and throwing it on the internet and maybe getting 50-100 listeners at your peak...that just doesn't interest me at all. Nothing about listening to a 1-2 hour podcast with people I don't know talk about something I'm only kind of somewhat interested in sounds appealing. I can't do it. I don't really care to take time out of my day or while im doing other things to listen what other boring uninteresting people have to say. I don't care about what Chris Hayes thinks about the news. I don't care about Marc Marons life stories. I don't care about Season of the B's political takes. I don't care about dough boys food opinions. There could be a podcast about mewithoutYou revealing every single detail about the band's history and annotating every song and I wouldn't care.

Like I just do not understand the underlying self inflated ego it takes to get to the line of thinking of starting a podcast like you have something important to say and that there is some demographic of people who are just waiting to listen to you. 90% chance someone is already doing it and doing it better and you're just adding to the noise no matter what the topic is. That's what turns me off to podcasts. Like whatever you wanna like and do whatever you wanna do and if you have fun running a podcast or listening to them that's great it's your life not mine I don't give a shit how you spend your time but I just dont get it and I am so over everyone and their grandma having a podcast and a patreon and a youtube channel and this noise cloud of vacuous entertainment from the last 2-5 years
