Update that no one was waiting for: Very cool to have the opportunity to listen. As expected, pretty fucked up view of Kurds and dissidents of any kind, pretty good take on Iran. A lot of talk of Syria. Many questions calling out Turkish movements to authoritarianism and squashing of peaceful protesting and a lot of dodging by the ambassador. On the plus side, he didn’t hesitate to call out our foreign policy, and even domestic, issues.

About 10 pro-YPG/PKK protestors outside and an unnecessary security entourage to “protect” from them. Pretty hilarious how the crowd of old, wealthy, white old people attempted to interact with them. I know that I’m definitely in the minority in this group I’m a part of, whether it’s based on age, politics, profession, etc, so I’m always entertained by the responses and reactions. Unfortunately, I didn’t get called on for my question re: climate change, but no surprises there...
