Loving the troll job that NME are currently doing. They have posted a LOT of articles about the band and non fans are complaining, so they’re posting more haha

I only pre ordered this one because it was a clear variant and my ass wanted it to match my S/T and ILIWYS clear variants.

which in hind sight doesn't matter a single fucking bit as it rots in Ferndale, MI.

I really like the last song on here. But for the most part, I'm finding it hard to listen to. Not enjoying the direction they went with the sound and it's such a depressing record. Will probably get a few more spins so I can develop some fuller thoughts, but that's where I'm at right now.

I’d honestly punch that dude who said the albums sounds like an hour of “Fireflies” probably in that persons ear. You know since it’s needs repairing anyways.

But like, why? Why can't they send it out a few days earlier? It just doesn't make sense that I can preorder something from Amazon and get it day of but preorder directly from the artist and get it a week later.

I’m forever on a Julien Baker/Keaton Henson hype so this album was remarkably cheery in comparison paha. Especially considering ‘Me’ is one of my favourites by these.

  8. Hmm, I think the album's quite optimistic as a whole.

  9. i think this album is in the business of undoing millennial cynicism for the most part

This is literally me, I don't do many social things because I have to leave with a migraine half the time. I didn't know Matty also experienced this :tear:

Yea idk I mean isn't all vinyl production kind of backlogged right now? My suspicion is that orders to Amazon/record stores get prioritized in the queue. If I pre-ordered the record - my purchase is already made, so they're going to prioritize getting it to places where they can get additional sales. This is wild speculation on my part but it would make sense (though it's not right).

Yeahhhhh don't really want to punch a female, but I hear what you're saying! She later went on to say she meant it as a compliment, but that doesn't make it ok.

The most annoying one is going to be the "Music For Cars" $200+ box set that comes out, probably like 3 months after Notes is released. But Notes will likely also have its own deluxe package too ugh... the best we can hope for is that when they announce Notes, they sell the MFC box set right away and don't try to double-up (though I wouldn't blame them).

I think bundling merch with a digital album is becoming more of the norm now. It's a great way to get bigger album sales numbers.

Yeah...and it’ll be SUPER LIMITED then be on sale for 20 quid a year later. Still stinging after ILIWYS. I remember when they were selling the gold necklaces for like 130 odd quid too...then for 25 was it? I get that they might have switched to a cheaper material, but come on. You know your fanbase. Nobody is buying 130 quid band necklaces unless they’re an utter loon. Soz to y’all who might’ve. Just think it’s absurd. Bad enough I just spent 55 quid on a plain grey 1975 hoodie.

Yeah...maybe BEFORE everybody orders their copy of it though. It’s kinda naff to wait til after it’s released and the majority of big fans have already spent lots to then offer an option they didn’t have and will have to shell more out for. Have the options ready from the get-go. A little planning goes a long way.

His joke about everyone smelling like Le Labo is spot on for LA.

They did change the material on the necklaces before lowering that price. But yeah, this is one of the only artists where I don't feel too harsh about the merch prices (mainly because I want to support and I think their aesthetic is great)... but MAN they do great merch business. Probably just out of top 10 in the industry.

Vinyl is backlogged, but I'm not so sure that's a factor here. In most cases, the artists/labels we're talking about here have planned in advance far enough to make sure they'll have vinyl on release day. (It's a different story for smaller/independent artists, who sometimes just have to have different release dates for digital/CD and vinyl.) If Amazon has it in time to send out 2-3 days before the release date, the artists/labels/artist stores almost certainly do as well. One of the preorders I did this year, the artist posted a photo of the vinyl probably 10 days out from release. But then the order didn't ship out until the Monday after the album came out. It's confusing.
