This Mets-Mariners trade is one of the rare ones where both teams lose

 

It’s great to save over $60m on Cano’s contract but it means nothing if the team stinks forever and never does anything with the saved money. It’s impossible to say if it’s a good/bad deal for Seattle right now.

 

So does cano still get 20m a year from the Mets?

Cano is a nice bat to add but they still need so much more offense. And how long is Cespedes out? This whole year? I mean they had a guy pitch an historic year and got him 10 wins. Maybe they're actually gonna do something in free agency too idk

 

Is Cano any good now that he can't do PEDs?

 

He was pretty good when he came back but who knows how long it'll last or why he was taking them. I wouldn't be surprised to see him be great initially and then slowly deteriorate a la pujols.

 

I'm just waiting for Cano and Cespedes to play together, one won't run and one won't slide, the heads of their broadcasting team will explode lol

Segura is pretty damn good, Phillies would be far and away winning that deal if that's the main piece

 

Sogned through '22 with an option as well. Really good deal. Gotta think they do whatever it takes to pay up and add one of Manny or Bryce

 

One of the biggest dumbass moves the Angels have made (of many) over the last couple of years was trading Segura away.

 

Someone in the nl east has to be good

 

And then the dbacks got nothing for him lol he's still somehow only 28 and has been traded like 5x

 

Waiting for one year soon where Boston, New York and Houston all win over 110, every other AL team is below .500 except TB who still wins 90 with a 13 pitcher bullpen and no starters

 

I've been saying, just develop a bunch of really good 1 inning guys and forget starters. Maybe that's why cashman is stashing such a high number of pitchers in their farm system.

 

Are the Mariners just perpetually rebuilding or?
