  1. Being an incredible band and a legendary live band is stuff of myths. They do it.

They're in a very small group of bands that are incredible recorded and incredible live and neither version sounds the same.

I can’t think of another band that is able to pull off so many different genres, and homages to other artists, so well and still manage to sound authentically and inimitably themselves in the final result. I think that quality is what is going to ensure every member of this band has a long career in music, should they desire it.

re-listening to the s/t tn and Matty sounds like a bb on this

he's grown so much vocally over the past two albums

also "Talk!" is still one of their best grooves

Ross and George go fuckin nuts on this shit

That’s my best approximation of how he sings “with guns hidden under our petticoats” lol

Easily among their most underrated songs.

I feel like it gets underrated by people who reduce it to a meme of Matty shouting "WHY DO YOU TALK SO LOUD" over and over again

it's incredibly layered sonically and again groovewise

    very Peter Gabriel too

The lyrics used to annoy me too, and that’s why it took me so long to come around to it. Now I can’t think of more suiting things for Matty to shout over a song so rhythmically chaotic.

the last minute or so of "Robbers" will always be so special to me

it's a perfect distillation of that infinite feeling that can only be elicited by pop music this romantic, dramatic (in the best way), and anthemic

yeah even my lesser favorites are just songs that I don't necessarily LOVE

Anyone who doesnt love Talk should have Audrey sleep on their couch and show you breakdowns about why that song is amazing.

I get STUPID to that song now. Why do you talk so loud? More like why do i air drum so erratically and legitimately hurt myself because of my lack of depth perception

I really do get Intro/Set 3 vibes from America, which lines up with me loving both.

    what a waste of wood

I truly can’t get over the last 4 tracks. I’m starting to sound like a broken record but wow... “Mine” might be the weakest of the 4 but it’s still a 9/10 song.

I said this about “8 (circle)” when I heard it 2 years ago and I can confidently say it again.. this album sounds like what falling in love FEELS like.

I liked the first album, thought their second was good, but I’m floored by this album. It’s incredible. I legit might get the box tattooed on my arm because that’s how much I love/ can relate to this album.

    “talk!” is my favorite song

That song took forever to click with me. Honestly what helped was hearing the old version of it.

And why would you believe you could control how you're perceived when at your best you're intermediately versed in your own feelings
