Cano fills the power void they're gonna miss with Cespedes this season, so adding Cano is just keeping them where they would have been. ideally Cespedes is healthy enough to return and be a trade piece at the deadline for a team looking for offense to make a push.

I think that's the correct math. Obviously, that's contract value, and not really broken down by year, but I think it makes sense.

 

Where did the 60 mil come from? I haven't seen it from any of the main baseball guys yet I don't think

I know we needed bullpen help going forward, but this trade looks incredibly stupid when considering their trade of Mejia just months ago. Offensively, Gomes could regress from his solid season this year, but he was always great defensively and supported our pitchers well.
