This album saved my soul today. I could say so much more, but I just want to let this all sink in. I feel like I've been saved and that everything is going to be ok now. I honestly believe that and I haven't felt this hopeful in a very very very long time.

I'm pretty sure you understand what I'm saying/feeling

My one sequencing change: swap sincerity and heads and bodies.

Honestly, I think this album is just not for me. There are some great tracks on here, that rival the best they've done like 'I Couldn't Be more In Love' and show signs of what I've liked from past albums, but a lot of the songs are just a miss for me. I like all the pre-release songs except for Give Yourself a Try but the majority of the songs I hadn't heard yet, I'm just not feeling. It's certainly an original release, and they're playing around and doing things that aren't being done elsewhere, but all in all, it's probably just not an album for me. It's a very quiet, contemplative album and I rarely gravitate to that kind of music. I've given it 3 front to backs so far and have already determined that there are songs that I'll just never go back to (Robot Love Theme, I Like America (I get it but excessive vocal effects don't work for me), How to Draw Petrichor, Give Yourself A Try & Surround By Heads and Bodies).
Songs that will go on the 1975 playlist and get much love and replays are Love It If We Made, It's Not Living, I Couldn't be more in Love and maybe Mine though it's a big stripped down and quiet for my taste again, I prefer the jazz explored on if you believe me.

I’m by no means complaining, I just said that to group the acoustic songs together after the energy of Love It If We Made It. A nice relief from the intensity. Then Sincerity into Mine to group the “jazz” numbers together.

OMG. Be My Mistake sounds like a Damien Rice song.

Fuck, the lyrics to "I Always Wanna Die" sounds like it could've came straight from my diary.
It might be too soon to make statements like this, but it's probably my favorite song of theirs. Definitely my song of the year.

Sooo after about 5/6 playthroughs - Inside Your Mind is still cheesy-sounding to me (I don't like cheese in any shape or form), and Mine isn't my thing. 13/15 ain't bad. All in all, this fared better than ILYWYS, which I couldn't help but skip a fair few tracks on. Or rather I'd just pick and choose as opposed to listening in full.

Also PSA: if anybody here is a boygenius fan, I've bought their vinyl and don't need the download code. Let me know if you want it. Hitting it to y'all first cos you're having a good time and you've been cool to talk to the last few days.

Now you’re just being disingenuous lol and I’m just giving you a hard time (although it is one of my favorites)

Paha I don't like it is all. The guitar riff just sounds cheesy and I don't dig the vocals. Love his lower register in Antichrist, but not this. Just sounded a bit forced in my opinion.

Inside your mind hits me hard because it was the last thing he recorded before he went to rehab and you can really hear the weariness and defeatedness in his voice. I kind of resent it being called cheesy since I know exactly what that feels like

I strongly recommend that the people in this thread saying that they've never liked the 1975 before to listen to "I Always Wanna Die (sometimes)".

    Song is perfect.

I mean, as with every other opinion I have about songs I don't particularly enjoy from this band - I'm not aiming them at you, and my opinion doesn't invalidate your experiences or thoughts. I said the riff was cheesy. Not the lyrics or his delivery.
