*thinks about how I Couldn’t Be More In Love is about Matty’s fear that their fans are going to eventually move on and stop caring about them*
*watches Instagram clip of him crying to fans singing along to Robbers*

I saw them in 2013 just before the debut came out and then again in 2015 I think. I haven't seen them since so I'm super excited to see them in January as I love them way more now.

I saw them the first time they came to Kansas City for a radio show. I awkwardly interviewed Matty before the show and brought up how he sounded hoarse and tired when they performed on the VH1 morning show the day before. He was gracious enough to not end the interview right at that point and talked for a pretty long while.

I missed the opportunity to see them in a 2,000 cap venue in Charlotte in 2014, because I couldn’t afford it at the time.

Almost missed the opportunity to see them in Charlotte in Summer of 2016, for the same reason, but I managed to get free tickets like the day of. I’m so glad it worked out like it did because that’s still my favorite show I’ve ever attended.

There’s no way I’m going to let myself miss them in May.

Busy week so I held off listening so I can really savor the moment

it’s so fucking good. I know I can just backread (and I will) but I wish I was here for the album release. This is something special.

edit: i just realized it isn’t a week - today was just a really long day for me :|

Just finished giving this album a full listen front to back. Incredible. Even the singles released sound better. It’s so good I pre ordered the yellow variant on vinyl and I’m on such a the 1975 kick at the moment that I ordered the deluxe version of ILIWYSFYASBYSUOI. It’s on sale for £19.75 on website atm. Bargain.

I like America and The Man Who Married a Robot are so good back to back. “You can go on his Facebook” really hit me hard. It’s so absurd.

Birmingham, UK. May 2013! I miss the leopard print drum cover. Some security guy tried to fight Matty that night. It was ridiculous. Such a good show though. I have pics from a few 2012 shows but they’re on my old phone...which I’m embarrassed to say was a Nokia Lumia.

Also found the September 2013 setlist among a pile of others from bands over the years. That setlist SLAPPED.

And I have two of these bad boys. One came from signing up to their site early or something, and another came from being one of the first 1000 to pre-order the S/T.

I havent been emotional for an album release in forever. Watching the videos of the band at their first shows, all the critical accclaim, these interviews...this is incredible

Oh god. I remembered I was one of those twats who shaved their hair like Matty’s. My hairdresser laughed so hard when I walked in. Called me Skrillex, amongst other not so savoury things. Luckily I had enough to cover it up in the presence of anybody who called me out for being the bellend that I am. I’ll get my coat.

    This was my first one.

I was standing on a stack of chairs at the side of the room lol.

My favourite part was watching George queue up all the backing tracks on a MacBook attached to his kit.

I was just incredibly drunk and it seemed like a good idea, I could probably see fine from where I was. I arrived about 20 minutes after doors opened and there were literally a handful of people there so I spent the next couple of hours alone at the bar until they came on.

First arena show almost exactly three years later:

Live Lounge Symphony in the Blackpool Tower:

The fucking O2 (show from which the live album is taken):

I've yet to see them live unfortunately. I'm going next year to the Michigan show because there is no way I'm going to miss them again

Can't wait to cry at the gig

Honestly think Heads and Bodies is my favorite. I just can't get over all the nuances and that melody is beautiful.
