I hope people who are won over by this record can go back and see the genius in ILIWYS if they didn’t before. I’ve been relisrening in between listens of this and they’re pretty much exactly the same in terms of quality to me. And one is my album of the decade by a long shot so...

the streaming era has made me petty as fuck, so if it's out there but not on spotify i usually manage to hold off until it is. knowing there's a 99% chance this will be my AOTY, it's surely been the most challenging one to avoid. fuck me the next 20 hours are gonna be hell

    Just a friendly reminder

If you were to tell me a couple of years ago that I was highly anticipating the new The 1975 album, I would've called you crazy. I did not enjoy the first record at all and found the second one hit-or-miss (though there are some songs that I genuinely love).

Can't wait to hear this thing.

Seen a fair few saying their order for this was dispatched - anybody in the UK had this confirmed? Mine states 'processed' - if memory serves that's essentially the same thing from them, but I've had no email. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Hahaaa hopping aboard that hipster train - I've got setlists from 2012 from them. Didn't know much of them prior to their first EP like a few here have though.

It's just nuts to me that I've been following these guys since I heard the first version of "Sex". Just witnessing them grow sonically and in popularity. The first time I saw them they played a small venue in Jacksonville and tickets were $17. The next time I saw them it was at an amphitheater in St Augustine and tickets were $90, and the show was sold out. I expected them to maybe get to the size of a band like New Found Glory popularity wise - but I'm so happy I was wrong about that.

Absolutely! I will admit it’s rather annoying that I can’t just rock up at 6pm and get front row anymore though, given so many people camp out (which I see Matty has addressed but folk will do it anyway) now. Very surreal going from a room of 300 or so people to the arenas lit by enormous twinkling backdrops. I remember at the second or third show I saw at the HMV Institute in the UK, the place was HEAVING. So much so, Matty commented that they’d have to play somewhere bigger, and they never expected that big a turn up. Mad!

The critical takeover is complete. Wow.

Reviews don’t matter for shit, but for the folks here who have always known this band is going to be the biggest band in the world, this is just another step.

BNM! That’s great. They never really hated the 1975, though, so I’m not tooo surprised.

Reviews don’t matter to your own subjective opinion. But they absolutely matter. I remember a staffer at VMP saying a record they press will spike big time when it receives a glowing P4K review. So good reviews sell records, build clout and credibility, however silly that all is. Bands want good reviews from respected sites. Especially a website like P4K.

This is great for The 1975. Their last record has grown on me a ton and I really like the singles off this one, especially “Love It If We Made It”, which is one of the best songs of the year.

Started driving to work this morning, was too lazy to take my phone out to put this album on, so I turn on the radio which is set to NPR, and a friggin interview with Matty starts right up lol.
