    I mean, I agree

But I think that DeShaun is well on his way. That’s really his biggest flaw, and tbh he doesn’t really have time to be patient in the pocket on most plays anyway, as you said. For the Texans it’s good that he has strong escape instincts. But he can work on being more controlled when the pocket has been okay.

You could easily nitpick Wentz’s flaws too. He’s not an elite QB just yet either.

That Miami game where Watson actually had time in the pocket showed exactly who he can become.

Watson's in the weird limbo where (going back to something that was said in here before) only a few teams can rely on having a clean pocket so there DOES have to be some adjustment done on your own...but ALSO there's only one team in the league that's starting fucking worst player in the league + most penalized lineman Julien Davenport at the literal most important position on the offensive line for a passer, so yeah given what this specific level of an atrocious line has put Watson through I'm willing to give him a lot of leeway in terms of "what he can do with a better line"

Spencer Long should be available for trade this offseason if you are interested

He has a little trouble snapping the ball though

man why the Panthers always gotta be cooler than the Jags. I don't blame @CarpetElf for making room for another team now that he's lived in Charlotte 3 years.

They came in the league at the same time as us, and:
    1) Got the cooler logo that didn't look as cartoony and goofy
    2) Got the much more vicious sounding cat growl
    3) Got to a SuperBowl first even though we had earlier playoff success
    4) Drafted Cam Newton while we drafted Blaine Goddamn Gabbert
    5) Got to a second SuperBowl while we advanced past the divisional round 0 times from 2000-2016

NOW: Both defenses declined but now they have CMC, Samuel, and my boi DJ Moore to go along with Cam Newton. Meanwhile our offense is a fucking dumpster fire that can't even keep their one star player on the field.

Now, if you put the best Jags of all time on one team and the best Panthers on another, the Jags would win (don't quote me). They had a better MLB (Kuechly), QB (Newton), and DE (Peppers) than we've ever had... I'd give us the edge everywhere else. We also have better uniforms.

But their timing has always been better than ours. I really want to win a SuperBowl before them.

I'm not quoting you, but you left out Steve Smith>>>

nevermind, forgot about jimmy... although i'd rather have steve than jimmy on my team, that first sentence doesn't really apply

I love Steve Smith, but absolutely not. Jimmy Smith > Steve Smith all day. Some of y'all will never know cause his career was cut short by multiple cocaine busts and it's hard to find pre-2006 NFL footage.

Steve was a starter for 15 years and had 14,731 yards, with 3 Superbowl-appearing quarterbacks (Delhomme, Newton, Flacco). Averaged around 1,000 per season.

Jimmy was a starter for 10 years (he spent his first two years as a Cowboys backup) and had 12,287 yards, and maybe Brunell was as good as Delhomme but Leftwich couldn't hold a candle to any of Steve Smith's QBs. Averaged around 1228 per season.

Steve Smith was like 5'6" and a ball of anger and hate and I will hear none of this slander.

  19. Steve Smith played with Chris Weinke, Rodney Peete, Jimmy Clausen, Brian St Pierre, Matt Moore, Vinny Testaverde, David Carr.

Jake only gave us 4 good seasons.

Jimmy Smith was bald and had a greying beard and was still one of the league's most feared deep threats with Byron fucking Leftwich throwing him the ball

the real question is will either of them end up in the HOF?

Jimmy Smith and Antonio Brown are the only receivers to ever have at least 5 catches and 50 yards in every game of a whole season

Also @CarpetElf, Steve Smith was 5'9", Jimmy was 5'11". Both had to beat their size disadvantage.
