I'm decorating the house for Christmas while the wife and baby sleep and I have The Office on the tube on mute and this album playing. It's kind of perfect.

Man, I Like America is such a powerful track. Wow.

Also I ordered this album on vinyl from Urban Outfitters today along with the pressing of A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar. It came out to $52 so I looked at it as $26 per record. Can't beat that.

“Sincerity Is Scary” might be my favorite song this band has done. I didn’t think anything could ever top “Somebody Else”

Also “I Like America” isn’t as weird I’ve seen people claim it is...it sounds very 1975 to me and kind of a natural progression from some of the more experimental things they’ve done in the past, and we know they’re fans of hip hop. I love the song.

I love I like America but I don’t think I love it as much as everybody else. The vocal performance is one of my least favorites on the album. He pulls off the yell sing much better on love it if we made it and the autotuned layers kind of muddles it for me a bit. That said the beat is fucking bonkers.

That's a really good read. Dying at this part though:

Listened to this tonight and it's easily my favorite album from them after one listen, pretttttty imperssive stuff. Could do without the robot story, and the album lost me a bit towards the end, but I'm sure that'll chance on more listens

I was just thinking the exact same thing. People at the office are starting to talk about their christmas playlists, and when Mine came on in my own little cave here, I thought "Hey, this fits right in"

I learned the hard way my body is not designed for baths or jacuzzis - I feel as though I’m going to pass out whenever I’m in one. And I have - multiple times. So yeah, I avoid that ha. I find them awkward anyway. I’m on Team Showers. I’d be a zombie every morning without one.

I feel as though the instrumental aspect of ABIIOR is far more refined and to my liking than ILIWYS. It’s the perfect blend here. Really bloody love this album. I stand by Surrounded By Heads And Bodies being my favourite. Excited for the vinyl to arrive! Got Snail Mail’s ‘Lush’, boygenius’ EP and ABIIOR coming this week. Hypeeeee

Only song I'm not in love with is "I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes)" sadly. I always hate it when my least favourite song finishes the album. The chorus just doesn't do it for me.

Not sure I understand how I Couldn’t Be More In Love is about the fans but hey maybe I’m being dense...

Inside Your Mind and Surrounded... are the weaker tracks on this, imo. I've already deleted the Robot song. I get why it's there, though. Just don't want to have to keep skipping it on shuffle.

Agree with Inside Your Mind. Find it cheesy af. Very predictable *this'll be our arena anthem* kinda song. But I couldn't disagree harder if I tried about Surrounded. Adore it... more than anything else on the album at the moment.

I genuinely love the Robot song. I hope they do more things in the future with that kind of music.

It's okay. None of them are bad, per say, Surrounded is just sandwiched between some of my favorite songs on the album and I just want to get to the last three songs before I get to work in the morning.

I appreciate that but I'm still struggling to see how that's about the fans? Am I missing something? Like it's a gorgeous song, and that's made me enjoy it more knowing how it came about. But I'm not seeing the connection with the fans here?
