Kinda realizing my girlfriend leans so heavily on me. She comes home from school every weekend instead of building a social life at college and I learned today my friends have stopped inviting me places cause they assume I'm with her. Meanwhile she's been pretty self destructive with her behavior lately and I feel very at odds with her.

That's always tough. Is it her first year at college? Does she lean on u because ur familiar and comfortable vs feeling out of her element at college?

 

Yeah that’s exactly it. I’m a grade under her and she’s a train ride away so the convenience combined with familiarity makes me a crutch.

 

Hmm hopefully once she gets used to it and starts finding her own support system up there she won't cling quite as much and will naturally back off a bit. Starting college is such a change and expectations are so high it can be v depressing and isolating at first. If u talk to her about it I'd just be sure to validate her feelings but encourage her to branch out and be supportive and I'm sure with time it'll go back to a natural rhythm!

my co-worker made a joke about her shooting her shot with another co-worker and it was a rebound miss.

I made the same joke but said “I shooted my shot and it didn’t even hit the rim. It was a straight air ball.” My co-workers laughed for a good few minutes. I’m funny.

I haven't dated in awhile, tired of guys only being able to talk about how they wanna have sex with me and that being all they care about. I just feel like society wants to put me in the position of being a fantasy to men but I feel like I am constantly fighting it and it's ruining my mental health.
