I also completely disagree about Romo being the best QB of his era not to win SB. Rivers is absolutely first in that discussion than Romo second in my opinion.

Rivers has played significantly more games, so him having more volume stats makes sense.
Romo was statistically better than Rivers in nearly every way from 2006 to 2016.

Drew Brees would have my vote tbh. He's the only one I can't argue against.

I just know that for the past 2 seasons we've see how atrocious the Colts are without Luck and now we see the entire team light up with him, and we see him producing at a high level. It's so hard for me to view anyone as a more valuable player this year than Luck.

My list as of today is:
    1. Luck
    2. Brees
    3. Mack

    The rivalry is back on

Matt Ryan almost definitely passes Romo on that list too before he’s done, unless he really falls off in the next year or so. Ryan’s career numbers will basically be Romo’s + 3-4 more very good years

Luck has been very good and is a lock for comeback player of the year but Brees has been vastly more efficient.

    Romo has Rivers beat in:

    Completion percentage
    TD percentage
    0.07% more INT percentage
    Passer rating
    Y/A
    AY/A
    ANY/A

Sure, Romo had Witten his whole career and a few years of TO and then Dez the last couple years, but Rivers had Gates his whole career, as well as LT who is a top ten all time running back.

I know I'm a homer, but Romo is unequivocally better than Rivers over that time span in my mind.

Rivers never really had a good receiver before he had Keenan Allen, which is kinda amazing. Was Malcolm Floyd their no.1 for like 5yrs? Haha

Romo having a slight upperhand in those stats doesn't make up for Rivers having almost 20,000 more yards and 120 more touchdowns.

Yeah but I don't care about who has been more efficient, I care about the impact they make as a player and I'm really not sure if the difference between Brees and Bridgewater on the Saints would be as big as the difference between Luck and Bridgewater on the Colts.

Idk I see the Saints as a team that's completely loaded with talent and the Colts as a team that immediately became a contender because of one player.

This is such a good point that I don't think about enough hahaha

Although he did have Antonio Gates for forever

Rivers played in many more games, so of course he has more volume stats. Doesn't take away from my post or opinion.

And he had Darren Sproles and Michael Turner right

There are so many Chargers I don't think about being Chargers

Vjax was probably as underrated at WR as Romo was at QB

You say the Saints are loaded with talent by Brees just destroyed the Falcons using only UDFA. I think if you put Luck on the Saints and Brees on the Colts then the Colts would have more wins and the Saints would have fewer.

Brandon Marshall would probably be the equivalent to Romo I think

Also, I love the qualifier of "Romo is the best QB not to win a ring" because all the other good QBs of the generation minus Rivers actually did.

I know I'm a homer, but Rivers played more games and has as good if not better surrounding offensive support but Romo put up better stats over that time span. I can't see an argument that shows Rivers was better other than volume, which isn't really valid considering he played more games.
