The Man Who Married A Robot is actually very good, kind of shocked but I feel like thematically it’s very important to the album and way more listenable than I thought, heartbreaking in its own way

  2. Heh. Tried telling all the cool kids to get on the train over 6 years ago. Welcome aboard! There's room for everyone.

Just realized you changed your avatar to Carly Sleigh Jepsen haha. Incredible. Did you purchase the sweater?

  4. Haha, not yet, I can't justify it for $50.

Maybe if some more people sign up for supporter memberships today. :crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh:

It's been so fun to watch the critical and popular mood shift this cycle. "The Sound" video is going to look like a giant middle finger in another 5 years.

Just to add some thoughts but probably reiterating most:
    - Love the 22AM-esque opening.
    - GYAT and TTTTTT are still so damn good.
    - HTW/Petrichor is WILD.
    - LIIWMI deserves to be their huge single.
    - Be My Mistake is alright, reminds me of a This Providence song I can’t place. lol
    - SIS is just so pleasant and I think is my favorite of the singles right now.
    - Holy Bon Iver on America! WOULD YOU PLEEEEeeeease LISTEN. This beat is FIRE.
    - I love The Man Who Married a Robot as a concept. Interested how female Siri would have sounded instead. This feels like the centerpiece of the record, and I’ll be interested to see how/if it’s incorporated live. Love the instrumentals so much. They’re beautiful.
    - I love that he’s using his lower register on Inside Your Mind. Damn, this is a good track!
    - It’s Not Living still a jam and a half.
    - Whoa I’m shocked at another acoustic ballad thing? Gosh I love the layers they add into their songs.
    - wow so many softer tracks on this. Really enjoy Mine.
    - Ohhh BABY, I Couldn’t Be More in Love is smooth af. OH BABY CHANGE THAT KEY WOW
    - I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes) I was not expecting this! Def getting 3EB, Oasis, Goo Goo Dolls vibes. I LOVE this as a closer! Oh wait there’s more oh okay cool strings.

What a wild album. Can’t wait to listen through again. Seriously, this band gives no fucks what anyone thinks but just fucking crushes it every time. I have complete faith in them, and I can’t wait to hear the next piece of MFC.

to be fair they didnt get to be one of the biggest bands in the world by everyone hating them. theyve always had extremely dedicated fans and a fan base that is continuously growing

Will semi-confidently say, after less than 24 hours of course, that Petrichor is my favorite thing they've ever done.

My initial reaction is that I like this less than the first two albums, but that it has some monster high points. Really like the back half.

  10. How to Draw/Petrichor is my early favorite

I hope certain toxic music reviewers on youtube either hate this and or don't review it so their stupid and toxic fanboys don't come aboard, ngl but that seems at odds with the message of this album so maybe I should reconsider?

Oh wow, Give Yourself a Try really does have the same riff at "Disorder" from Joy Division

And somehow this is only my second favorite album of the year with a heavy Blue Nile influence

The paper kites album was pretty sweet but the blue nile influence was a little too overpowering. Like there wasn't enough of their own identity or something.

gonna listen to ILIWYS tomorrow at work, didn’t do much for me when it came out but I was in a very different headspace

will say this is absolutely incredible. I think certain aspects of rampant fandom and artist worship made me uncomfortable and unfairly turned me off them, but this is one of the strongest reactions I’ve had to an album in months. I love it all - Be My Mistake and Inside Your Mind might take some getting used to but everything else was instantly fucked good to the point that I immediately understand what you all have been so wild about for the past half decade

I also think they captured the theme of how we relate to each other in the age of the internet very well, lyrically and musically. It plays like a mixtape which I think is fitting when you’re engaging with the idea of a generation who cue up Spotify playlists while they fuck the person they met on an app

Hope we haven’t seen the last of a track like Petrichor, feel like there are going to be a lot of fans that love that song but would shit on club music and culture at large and it would be sweet if a band of their size could spread that to the wider consciousness more

I can’t wait to hear it all again

  22. My assumption is this is the clothing brand ... or was I way off?
