I’m so out of touch, whenever they do these covers I’ve never heard the original song.

 

Yeah. 14/15 of these songs blow me away. Inside Your Mind is just too cheesy for me. But my goodness what a damn good album.

 

They’re almost always immediately up for replaying on the Radio 1 site I think? And I’d gamble they’ll slap vids of it on YouTube pretty quick.

I just heard the radio edit of Love It If We Made It and my word. Completely wrecks the urgency and tone.

 

I caved and finally listened to this. Hearing all these songs for the first time was so overhwhelming. I definitely wasn’t expecting them to progress in the direction they did but what the fuck. I can’t form solid thoughts on this just yet but I know I already love it to death. what the fuck

It took me 4 playthroughs of the album to get to the last page. Finally here!

And yeah, of course I fucking love this.
All the singles still make me want to dance my ass off.
I Like America is fantastic, I Always Wanna Die is otherworldly.
How to Draw and the back half of Married a Robot makes me want to hear The 1975 score an entire movie.

 

Hot take: since they broke from tradition with the cover art, they may a well have ditched the intro and used The Man Who... as the intro.

 

Coming back from work and seeing that there are 20 pages to catch up to reminds me of the ap.net era during big releases. Honestly I didn't expect this to leak until like Thursday afternoon, much like how every other album leak these days. Hope you all like it, I planned to listen to their discography this week, and finish right as Friday came in, but I'll read your reactions either way. This is so exciting.

 

Prediction: The version of the intro on the next album will be a slow somber stripped down acoustic take.

But yeah, I could absolutely see them putting that first instead. Would also make it easy to just begin the album on track 2

Love how they managed to stun me with the revamped intro two albums in a row.

 

What did they have to change? Obviously the first couple of lines but I guess more?

There's a really clear narrative throughline here, should try to trace it later.

 

So upset I couldn’t join you all last night but I just read through the last 10+ pages and I’m stoked. I wanted my first listen to be with wine; instead it’ll be with coffee. I’m going back to sleep for another hour but then my first listen shall commence!

 

Obviously all the drug references, swears but it's cut down a bit of the second 80s bit, loses one of the 'tell me something I didn't know' lines.
