Hitting How To Draw gave me so many feels, I didn’t know it was on here and that song is hella important to me :’(

 

Eating some leftover birthday cake of the kids I'm babysitting and diving into my first listen.

 

they definitely evoke the emotions in me that I felt listening to JEW records growing up. Emotions I can rarely ever tap into at 26 the way I did when I was much younger. But the 1975 take me to that head space like no other band has since JEW

 

A few are gonna try. And fail. So many thought it was **just** about borrowing from the 80’s.

So few bands feel like they’re really pushing at what they can do these days. (I willl say the one band that surprised the hell out of me in that vein was that last The Maine album.)

 

Goes without saying, best closer imaginable.

 

Reading all these first playthrough reactions is getting me real close to caving.

This is gonna be the longest three days of the past 5 months.

 

Taking this opportunity to endorse this, if you had told me when I was 14 that the only scene band I would still like was The Maine I would’ve busted out laughing but here we are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Worth noting that I listened to 22, A Million last night for the first time and LOVED it

 

I know I’m posting a bunch but like I said I’m wine drunk and I’m glad I’m here with all of you experiencing this, it makes me feel good about music in our messed up world so thx guys (gender normative of course)

 

"I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes)" just finished and I'm misty eyed. This album is absolute perfection. I'm so glad I didn't overplay the three singles I listened to before hearing the whole album. This is something special.

Alright. Time for round two.

 

I'm gonna rinse this out of my head with the live 22, a million stuff but yeah I Always want to die is what it feels like to love music

 

I hope this album gains them new fans and weeds out the ones who wouldn't shut the hell up during If I Believe You and Please Be Naked last time I saw them.

This album and thread and experiencing it with all you fans is really why I love music. If someone asked to “show me why you try to do this each day, and push through some tough spots,” it’s this thread ... this band ... tonight and the days to come. It’s these memories in a long lineage of albums and moments in music that I can always look back on.

I feel like this is one of the only places on the Internet where this band gets the praise they deserve. I just checked somewhere else and it was a bunch of people dunking on them just because NME said it was the millennial ok computer

 

Only listened to Sincerity once before and I love it.

It's the sound I want Chance the Rapper to adopt haha
