I definitely need to get Joe Hills previous three books now and read them, got End of Watch today.
The Fireman has also made me want to go back and re-read The Stand again, I have the uncut edition with the extra 400 pages that were cut for the first edition.

 

They're all great but N0S4A2 specifically is just insanely good. If The Fireman is Joe's The Stand than N0S4A2 is his IT.

The uncut version is actually all I've read, I think when I go back and read it I might read the cut version just to see how that feels comparatively. Hard to think of anything I'd want to cut. I think I heard that cowboy fella whose name I can't recall was cut.

 

Its been so long since I read both I can't recall either to be honest, the uncut one is so good though that must have been tough to cut that much its essentially a third of the book.

Well I need to read N0S4A2 ASAP after that comparison.

 

Has anyone watched "Cell" yet?

They look good. I assume the Midnight Special kid is pretty good? Waiting for video release on that movie is killing me.

 

He's great. He was also in St Vincent.

 

Oh sweet I liked that movie. He was good.

 

Just finished The Fireman. Damn that was crazy good.

 

I watched it, I enjoyed it alright. Of course the book, as usual, was better. One of my dislikes is how quickly it moves through a lot of the stuff that was rather important to the story line in the book. Overall I thought it was a decent representation of the book. I would give it a C+ or a B- ....

Interested to see what you guys think

 

I don't know why it didn't hook me the first time I tried it, can't put down Mr. Mercedes now. Is the rest of the trilogy good?

 

Yeah both Mr Mercedes and Finders Keepers are about the same quality, both great. End of Watch is the best.

 

Brendan Gleeson is perfect casting for Hodges.

 

I'm stoked to read the second one but I might read Doctor Sleep first.

 

Working through the King that my library has. Started The Regulators the other day and put a hold on Desperation. Regulators is pretty intense so far haha.

 

I can literally picture no one else but Amy Ryan for Janey in Mr. Mercedes.

Has Sleeping Beauties been discussed in here at all?

I don't remember where, but I have not heard good things.

 

Yeah I remember there was something that turned me off of buying Double Feature when it came out, maybe Avclub. Amazon reviews aren't too glowing.

 

But man, Gleeson and (having seen him in Green Room) Yelchin are just perfect casting. David Kelley is an...odd choice, but I have a lot of confidence this could be quite a hit.

 

I apologize if this question's been posted by someone already, but this year I told myself I'd finally read Stephen King, so what are maybe two or three books I absolutely should start with?
