If he stays with the Jags he might become literally the best player in franchise history.

So far in his career he looks even more special than Jimmy Smith or Fred Taylor did. I’d certainly say Tony Boselli was that good at left tackle, but he only lasted 5 years

Jimmy Smith is the one I expect to stay on top. I think Fournette could top Fred. Yannick just needs to re-sign and he'll be our best pass rusher. Ramsey goes without saying. Telvin I think is already in our record books but I could be mistaken.

I put Ramsey over Jimmy Smith because, I bet if they faced each other in their primes, Ramsey could cover him. He has what it takes to stop a guy like that. I mean, we’ve seen Ramsey handle Antonio Brown without trouble - like he’s just another dude - 3 times in the last 2 years... and I put Brown over Smith.

Gonna say a hard no to Fournette being better than Fred. I like Fournette quite a lot but I mean Fred was better than him when he was 32-33 years old, let alone his prime. If he had a healthier career he’d be my unquestioned number one Jag. From a film study perspective he created a LOT of yards on his own, and was a big play specialist. He was a great cutback runner up the middle AND in open space. Had elite vision, moves, and tbh was even faster and more sudden than Fournette, but still a big back (6’2” 220). When you watch old Jags games, he was an even bigger threat to take any play to the house than Smith, which is very impressive for a RB

MJD was also elite, and using any less of a word to describe him would be understating how dominant he could be as both a rusher and receiver. I don’t think we can call Fournette elite just yet, I have him as “very good” so far.

Yannick is “on his way” but he still has some consistency to prove before I put him up there with Brackens. He is certainly the only above average DE weve had since Tony Brackens though. Those years with Henderson and Stroud at DT were wasted with poor FA pickups and draft busts at the DE position

Telvin Smith is my favorite Jags linebacker, objectively I have him
tied with Kevin Hardy. I like him more than Paul Poz, Daryl Smith or Mike Peterson. Kevin Hardy is probably about equal - much better blitzer but not nearly as versatile in coverage. I say this however, admitting that Telvin hasn’t made plays at the catch point this year and that’s a big reason why we’ve regressed. He knows how to cover but he needs to get that damn ball when the QB throws at him anyway. He’s given up too many third downs.

It’s been a long time but the 98-99 Jaguars team is still the most stacked roster we’ve ever had. Hardy, Taylor, Jimmy, both offensive tackles (Boselli, Searcy) and Brackens were all multi-year Pro Bowlers. On top of that, Brunell, Donovin Darius, Kyle Brady, both corners (Fernando Bryant and Aaron Beasley), and Keenan McCardell were in that upper second tier of talent for at least a couple years.

I don't think Zeke gets talked about that differently than Tyreek Hill or Ben Roethlisberger around here. People might talk about him because he comes up a lot because he's very good at football but if Jameis were putting up elite quarterback numbers I think the reaction would be similar. At least, there was plenty of scorn for him on the AP days when he was at Florida State/getting drafted.

but lol at bringing up Michael Bennett as if he's anywhere near Zeke's level of shithead.

In the year 2025, only one current NFL coach still has his job from 2018: Jason Garrett. Career record: 115-115-2.

Re: the Jags discussion, I always had a strange love for a lot of their players. I rememebr Natron Means blowing up that one year, and always loved the Fred Taylor/Jimmy Smith/Keenan McCardell combo they had

    The rivalry is back on

True but also if you told me I could have a pass rush and a guy who looks like a CB1, and I also still got Glowinski doing work inside, I’d probably still take you up on that.

If I had to pick one player in this draft we will still be talking about ten years from now Nelson is my pick.

Quentin Nelson, Derwin James, and Baker Mayfield are all gonna have standout careers.

Barkley too even if the Giants stay a bad team. Additionally Roquan and Minkah look like the real fuckin deal

Oh yeah. Him too. If I’m an OC who has to play the Browns my gameplan is focused on throwing his way as little as possible

    It’s impossible to pick one.

From what Ive seen, Barkley might be even better than Todd Gurley and Zeke (but on a much shittier team). That dude is crazy talented.

The only thing that holds me back from calling him the best player in this draft class right away is, RB get hurt a lot and injuries have hindered a lot of amazing RBs careers. Wanna wait and see if he stays healthy
