Great story. I'm not a weirdo celebrity worshiper but I love hearing stories about famous people being nice to regular old civilians!

 

It's not going to be an album with Tom. Mark described the process with Tom as a friendly divorce, not a trial separation.

This thread was going great for a long while without even a mention of Tom for awhile til recently ugh. I'm not letting myself get drawn into it past this point, consider this the last time I say the guy's name.

Im willing to bet skiba keeps blink his primary focus while alkaline trio shrinks down to an occasional side project for him. With the amount of money hes making in blink now, i doubt hed give it up unless mark and travis asked tom to come back, which seems unlikely.

I love Man Overboard. Really do. It's actually a very personal song for me, always makes me think of my older brother who for some reason completely changed from when I was a kid to now, and nowadays he is a black sheep who doesn't talk to the family, but when he does its either to complain about his husband abusing him for the 1000th time, or more recently him being drunk and just talking massive amounts of crap about his own brothers, parents, grandparents. Really horrible stuff (white trash moms a whore etc etc). I was super close to him growing up so I was the last one to finally give up on him. So this song always makes me think of that situation (even had it on repeat the other night when he started something again).

 

Everyone I've asked who knows the situation in detail says that Tom is still a principal owner of Blink 182, even if he's not performing with them right now. Tom will never give up his shares in Blink when he can make money on the records/tours they do without him.

So, they're still married on paper, only Tom is spending his time at the family vacation home instead.

Also, he'll be back someday. Mark hasn't ruled it out either.

 

Anybody have a favorite 3 song stretch from any blink record? I don't know if it's my favorite but, I've always loved roller coaster - reckless abandon - every time I look for you.

I have a similar situation with my brother actually, but not quite to the extent as you do. Never actually relating this song to that until you mentioned it. It does really relate to the situation well.
