I hate that Makeout is such a awful, detestable band because those three openers together actually would be a decent show

Ha! I didn't even think about that and it's probably my favorite Handguns song. I'm going to listen to that EP now. It's been a long time.

 

Why? It's not like they're getting legit tours anymore.

Only one I'm not familiar with is Oh, Weatherly. And I can confirm that the other 3 are all dudes.

Nah you quoted the right one, I'm just on mobile and assumed it was the Makeout tour based on the OP posting both it and Slam Dunk.

Why do people care so much about this? I am female and it doesn't bother me at all. Maybe people should wait for the whole line up before they criticise.

 

You can't see why a festival being more willing to have abusers on their line up than women is bad?

 

There's barely any female representation in the music industry as it is, and to see one of the bigger festivals in the UK not even bother to try to include women is a little sad and discouraging.

 

What makes it worse to me is that this is now the second announcement and there's not a single woman on the line up, but like most years I'm guessing there will be a few on the final line up. They're obviously aware of the criticism that the festival always has hardly any women on the line up, but have still chosen to not announce any bands with women thus far. Basically they just don't give a shit and they're almost proud?

Not to start discourse in the tour prediction and speculation thread but I wish the men playing these festivals, especially higher build, would make a stand. Clearly, not enough is gonna happen fan wise and the opinion of actually marginalized people and they don't care about the few on their lineup either. Would be nice for the allies and such to step up or say something in this situation or others like it.

Yeah, I was happy that Thursday dropped off of Slam Dunk last year, but I wish it had been for this reason and not travel or health issues.

 

Kyle from Real Friends just announced a holiday show at Subterranean. Openers are Hot Mulligan and Fredo Disco.

 

Secrets are doing anniversary shows for an album that came out in 2013

 

deluxe in 2014 :)

 

Wouldn't it cost way more for that band to fly all their shit to Australia and play to (assumedly) tiny venues that are barely filled? The world of touring boggles my mind sometimes.
