Need some recs. Been looking for really technical math rock. Lots of awkward time signatures and changes of pace. Anyone know anything good?

@topshelfsquad why is the new Elephant Gym 8 tracks long on Spotify, 9 tracks long on their Bandcamp, and then there's also a 12 track version floating around on the internet?

 

i recall the physical version is gonna have more tracks. don't know if that factors into it, since, why would they then be online already. but idk

 

I've also found a 13 track CD that can be imported from Japan so I give up at this point

 

lol, okay so:

streaming it: 8 tracks (bandcamp should only have 8, that's a mess up by us whoops)
purchasing in any format: 13 tracks

hope that makes sense! they wanted to reward people who bought the record by giving them something extra you can't get otherwise (unless you pirate it, which, well, i am aware is gonna happen anyway).

 

makes sense. i am 100% gonna be buying the vinyl (assuming it's getting a pressing) next year when that arrives.

Kev, any more info on their US tour? like, have dates gotten locked down?

Fun fact: my friend took that cover photo and submitted for the contest they were doing, but never checked his email so it took him for ever to approve them using it, I think it maybe got pushed back because of that. And because we were facebook friends the band messaged me asking to reach out to him, but it went straight into my like hidden messages and I wouldn't see it until months later.
