this song is sick, it started and I was like "oh no" and then the way the beat came in I knew that I was in good hands lol

Yeah the first 30 seconds of this song are kinda off-putting but when the bass drops in the pre-chorus the song's a damn earworm from that point on

  3. Unsurprisingly, this song was...not what I expected lol. Feels like a mix of the last two albums in a sense.

For what it's worth, Apple Music has it as "Weezer (Black Album)".

  9. Honestly I'm not 100% sold on the song either, but I've literally had the same reaction to every single since The White Album and eventually come around to loving them, so...

Best part of the song is the synth at the end. What I DO like about this is that is definitely feels like an extension of Weezer being themselves and making weird pop music, just like on the last record. I also love "Can't Knock the Hustle" as the opener.

I think that settles it then! And the album art is just self-titled as usual. I think this is the first time I see promo material referring to it as the color though, even the white album I think was promoed as "Weezer," but I could be wrong.

I really struggle imagining liking anything Weezer has done the last 20 years and not liking this. This is one of the most Weezer-y songs they’ve ever written.

As much as I love them, sometimes I just wish they never wrote the Blue Album or Pinkerton. Because until the end of time, their fanbase will want and expect them to sound how they did as unhappy kids in the ‘90s instead of what they’ve sounded like for 85% of their career.

To be fair, I feel like a lot of their songs from certain albums can be described as “trash that’s also catchy” lol

I feel pretty neutral about both. Don’t hate but likely wouldn't come back to it much. I respect them for trying something different but almost sounds a little too forced. Though even with loving both white and EWBAITA, I felt the same about back to the shack and thank god for girls (both the only songs I skip on those albums and also the first singles released).

I'm sure you're not alone, haha. I never went back to "Can't Knock the Hustle" until fairly recently!

Neither of these songs are GOOD but they're both fun goofy Weezer tunes so I'm enjoying the heck outta them anyways.

Both songs sound like what Weezer has been striving to sound like for the last 9 years. I mean that as a good thing, I friggin' love both songs.

Those 2 notes on the piano that repeat throughout Zombies is so infectious.
